Here We Go Again! Ten Years To Save Planet, Says Prince Charles

Well, at least that’s an improvement on the 96 months he gave us back in 2009:

But by 2015, he must have bought himself a new calculator:

Four years later, however, 33 years had shrunk to 18 months!

The Prince of Wales has warned global leaders that if we don’t tackle climate change in 18 months the human race will go extinct.

No, really. Here are his actual words, in a speech in London yesterday to foreign ministers from the Commonwealth.

I am firmly of the view that the next 18 months will decide our ability to keep climate change to survivable levels and to restore nature to the equilibrium we need for our survival.

I’m sure that ‘global leaders’ were sufficiently polite to stifle their laughter at yet another idiotic forecast by this poor deluded fool.

Lovely, if you had the time and patience you could do hundreds of these featuring the usual suspects.

Ta for the rainfall post you did a few years ago, I have referred to it here.

You have to admit that he is consistent. Consistently wrong that is. Like many of his ilk, his consistency means that the opposite of what he says is likely to be nearer the truth.

    • February 23, 2020 7:57 pm

Consistent like a broken record, from the days when we had such things.

The Anglican Church of which he will be the head has drummed this into the clergy along with views on marriage for years. The congregations leave. See Anglican Unscripted on Youtube ! Rebels continue to complain.
Not exactly inbred or stupid just restricted in viewpoints he can express, unlike the posters on this blog!

Maybe the monarchy needs to go extinct, along with climate scientists that make such predictions. People seem to be getting stupider all the time. Give it up, people. Give it up.

Not the brightest tool in the box is our Charlie. Look who he chose over Diana. If he wasn’t next in line to the throne nobody would listen to him. Actually I’m not sure anybody listens to him now but he does make good copy

This prediction should be added to the long list of doomsday predictions made over the years which have been shown to be false and not a little mad. Do you think that “Mad Charlie” will become his nickname in future assessments of the monarchy?

Reminds me of that joke about the doctor who gave his patient six months to live and when he couldn’t pay his bill gave him another six months.

There was a time when members of the Royal Family kept their mouth shuts and opened fetes, bridges, new buildings, etc. He is descended (loosely) from a gang of thuggish, barbarous French-Danes who in 1066 illegally and ruthlessly usurped the English Throne from the Witan, the legislative council which ruled England until the 11th C and elected its Kings. He has no right to be in the position he is than I have to be King of Abbysina. His £400,000,000 fortune has been achieved by centuries of theft, murder and slavery, and as Delingpole says, the real reason behind his outburst is to send the message that although I am a rich, greedy, obnoxious snob and hypocrite, I’m really at heart a wonderful, nice, loving person who wants to save humanity from extinction. Virtue signalling on a grand scale.

We don’t yet have the Civil Service plotting his downfall, well, not to my knowledge anyway.

      • February 24, 2020 12:09 pm

I had all the dose of Civil Service I needed when working at the Smithsonian Institution’s US National Herbarium in the 1970’s. It rewards sloth and discourages hard work and innovation. And the idea that it is not political??? HAH!!!! It entrenches the corrupt. We need to do away with it at all levels of government.

I said at the time*, “If we don’t save it in ten years, they’ll give us another ten.”

Charlie, here’s a climate science tip to make it sound like you know what you are talking about: use a decimal point (fake precision). Ten is too round. Next time say, “9.6 years.”

*Actually, many, many times. Every time I hear these phony deadlines.

The problem I had with the 33 years forecast was that I knew I would not last to see it.
The 18 month one is a very good possibility.
With the 10-year plan – that’s pushing it just a little.
I do expect to be here, and I hope in a better state of mind than the Prince is at this time.

I wish he’d give us more detail. How will we know when/if we’ve saved the planet? Reduced CO2 to, er, 350 ppm as it says on the weather page of the Guardian? Not a hope. Cleared up pollution? Yeah, fine, let’s do it. I want Charlie to give me a TARGET to aim for.

Its Groundhog day for all of us. Alarmists keep telling us for decades that the world will end at some point in time or that something terrible is to happen at this particular point in time, and when the point passes and nothing has happened, they just declare another point in time when the world is going to end. In ten years, and even older prince Charles (the Queen might still be around then as the old prince might have lost it) will tell us about the end of the world at some other point in the future. How many times will we swallow this crap? When I am told the same thing repeatedly, I will eventually have some doubts. How about the rest of us?

Haven’t the Jehovah’s witnesses predicted the end of the world some ten times or so, the last being 1974 as I recall? After that they at least had the decency/self awareness to say it would come at some time in the future rather than naming a particular date. When you’re making less sense than a Jehovah’s witness I would suggest it’s time to shut up!

If tonight’s BBC1 is anything to go on, as we get closer to COP26 we are going to be submerged in CC propaganda from them. Tonight, Green Peter – sorry, Countryfile – was a total sceptic-free zone where Dung Heap was given free reign to push the AGW meme. He even discovered a new worry for the Thunderthighs of this world: Nitrous Oxide!
Then, on BBC2, Simon Reeve was giving us a really fascinating travelogue through the far-east of Russia, but ended up, once again, in a sceptic-free discussion on the loss of permafrost in Siberia. Yes, the sink-holes were dramatic but there was no discussion on whether they were unique – as in, never having happened before in recorded time. But balance in CC is not the way of the BBC.

I can confidently predict we will not “tackle” climate change in the next 18 months. We will still be driving, flying, heating and cooking using fossil fuels at the end of 2022. And China will still be building coal plants.

So what will he say then?

If anyone is wondering why the Queen has continued on in her role, rather than handing it over to her son, you need only look at his behaviour. I’m not a royalist, but I am of the opinion that the Queen is clever than most republicans think that she is. She knows that putting a lunatic in charge of the shop would see the business closed down quite quickly. I admire her for that.

It’s a pity he inflates his lungs for any reason. Her Majesty’s Corgis are a better mascot. I recall a report decades ago that the Queen would not allow Charles to become the next Monarch. Her wisdom is in keeping schtuum. Harry has done an Edward VIIIth, Andrew has blotted his pants, looks like it’s yours William!

I can see a new childrens book on the horizon: “When We Had Royalty”.

I’m generous enough to believe that he means well, and believes what he says. He just doesn’t seem to have the brains to see that the doom he, and other environmentalists, has been predicting most of his adult life has not, and will not, come to pass. How far back do we have to go for ten years, now reduced to 18 months, for save-the-planet wrong predictions? At least twenty years during which not much has changed apart from ever more strident messages of doom.

Well the AGW nonsense has now become very political. So Charlie boy has to be very careful since the last King Charles to get involved in politics was given a very short back and sides. I think he’s tempting fate! As WSC said “those who forget their history are doomed to relive it”. Also I don’t want to eat Charlie but I expect Camilla does!
