“How to watch BBC iPlayer abroad on iPhone, iPad or Mac”

The principle described applies to whatever operating system is used:

That’s because you have to pay the compulsory TV tax to watch a load of hard left wing propaganda, that you don’t want to watch anyway!!

Doesn’t youtube run ads on those videos anyway? Which should mean the BBC would be making money if people from outside Britain were watching their channel. This restriction makes no sense whatsoever.

It must be some sort of legal copyright thing.

Sleepy Joe is going to jump into the Paris Accord tomorrow with both feet, what an ignoramus. Or is it a “Yes Mr President” cunning plan?

Fortunately, rejoining the clowns in Paris will require the approval of Congress for Joe and Kamala (and the greens) to spend the money Donald Trump saved us from losing.

No it doesnt. Just as Obama didnt ask for Congress , more specifically the Senate, for approval, which would have locked it in as a binding Treaty.
Its done as an Executive Order for the Presidents office. But that cant happen till excatly Jan 20 when the current term expires

Obama didn’t have to seek Congressional approval because, in Article 4.4 of the Agreement, the word ‘shall’, imposing a legal obligation on the US, was changed to ‘should’, imposing only a moral obligation. And the latter, it was judged, does not require Congressional approval.

It was especially interesting that the change was made at the last minute at the suggestion of the Chinese who understood that the Senate would almost certainly reject a Treaty that imposed a legal obligation on the US. They did so because the Agreement exempts China from any obligation (legal or moral) to cut its emissions and they knew that the US would feel obliged to observe a moral obligation. And that of course is why Trump pulled out and proposed a renegotiation.

Mine wouldn’t play on the direct link but a search on YouTube found it and it played fine. Amusing but far too close to the truth.

“Biden has already laid out a US$2 trillion clean energy and infrastructure plan, a commitment to rejoin the Paris agreement and a goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.”

200 billion $US divided by 500 billion tons of CO2 captured and buried (Jim Hansen’s 350 ppm Net-zero amount) is about US40¢ per ton. Again, an absurdly low value in the real world of carbon storage. Very much more than US$2 trillion would be needed. These greens need to get a better grasp on their plans for our energy destruction. Their money doesn’t grow on green trees. It has to be taken from someone’s pocket.

Alas currencies do grow on trees. Its the federal Reserve, BoE, BoJ etc money printing computers. A couple of $trillion have been printed this year already. Of course that ‘currency’ (as opposed to money like gold and silver) will become progressively worthless. Weimar here we come – anyone for Zimbabwean dollars?

      “Inflation still remains low.”

That is because, in a sense, the people as a whole have not actually tried to spend this
“extra money” in a FINAL economic transaction that Adam Smith would have recognized as meaningful. We still await that moment when the bewildering fog of money and credit is dispersed, to reveal the actual, individual, winners and losers in this mad, multi-decade game.

Governments and banks do not create money. They scribble something onto bits of paper or merely announce that, according to the computers, you have money. You and I are the ones who create money – or the appearance of money – when we BELIEVE them – and assume that in the FUTURE we can always get something real for it in the shops. If we stop believing this nonsense, in a collective wakening as a society…there will be a crisis compared to which this Covid kerfuffle will be nothing.

The timing of this crisis is completely obscure. That is because the one thing we can be sure of is that, once you install nonsense into a collective head you will never get it out again by reasoning.

“It’s easier to solve an imaginary problem than a real one”.
    Spot on.
As with so much to do with AGW, this is exactly mirrored by our stupid response to Covid. As Ivor Cummins keeps pointing out (with research and facts) there is no second wave with associated excess deaths – just the normal seasonal response to a coronavirus. Our government and its medical advisors, of course, have cried an imaginary wolf, possibly in the belief (as the Worldometers case figures indicate) that the autumn increase is already waning. As with this television PM and advisors, they can then claim “look, we saved the world!”. Thousands of businesses and a great deal more people face financial ruin due to this latest lockdown but who cares?

Agreed – politics, like corporate life – it’s not shovelling sand that matters – it’s “being seen to shovel sand”. All useless bollocks of course.

If Biden captures the Presidency the chances of him getting approval to give $ to the Paris Agreement are nil to none. Obama back doored the second $500M from a so called “slush” fund on his last day in office. I doubt the Senate will approve any money for the Paris Agreement and after Obama’s deceit will be very careful of approving unallocated $. As far as initiating a GND under executive order even the President has to answer to the SCOTUS and guess where that would end up. If Trump loses his biggest legacy will be the three Conservative justices he appointed to SCOTUS. The chances of Trump winning are getting better as more whistle blowers come forward and more shenanigans are uncovered …. and they are piling up. Anyone remember when Al Gore was “President” for 36 days?
