David Craig’s book, “There is no climate crisis”, was published earlier this year. It is well worth taking a look at.

He hired an ad van to promote it in Manchester during the Conservative Conference there last month:

dc

Unfortunately when he tried to hire the van again in London, he received this reply from the company, Gorilla Marketing:

Thank you for your email.

After due consideration, unfortunately we will not be able to fulfil future bookings for your book as the content of the banner message is just too inflammatory.

This resulted in our driver being both verbally abused throughout the course of the Manchester operation and then physically assaulted by a member of the public. An incident attended by the police and for which I understand a man was arrested.

If you can find another contractor who is prepared to undertake the work, we would be happy to arrange for the banners to be delivered to them

So much for free speech!

Far too much common sense, facts and a complete lack of hysteria in that book for your average eco loon. Never mind winter, the climate wars are coming. Buckle up!

Regrettably, people listen to the BBC, or read the Guardian, and believe what they see/read without question. As the above article has shown project fear has won the day – so far. Once the inflation and rising prises begin to bite maybe we’ll see a sea change?

  4. October 26, 2021 10:00 am

What are people so frightened of to hear even an alternative view. The fact that the driver was assaulted demonstrated clearly that this is not science but their religion they are “defending”.

The Kindle version page on Amazon has a useful summary of the book:

“What if there is no climate crisis? What if the Earth isn’t overheating? What if sea levels aren’t rising? What if the polar ice caps aren’t melting? What if there is no need to reduce CO2 emissions as they have little to no effect on our planet’s climate?

Using 150 years of newspaper reports, temperature charts which have been doctored or even deleted, CIA reports and even letters to U.S. presidents, THERE IS NO CLIMATE CRISIS reveals that in a futile attempt to fight the non-existent threat of man-made global warming, or climate change, or climate emergency, or climate crisis or whatever it’s called this month, we are about to commit the most expensive and disastrous scientific mistake in human history.”

Wholeheartedly agree. Except with two words: ‘we’ and ‘mistake’. It is the puppet governments, under the direction of the digital/financial complex (or Mr Global, as I have begun to see it called), that are committing it, and it is no mistake: they know exactly what they are doing. New World Order, here we come. The rest are just in it for what they can make off our backs or perennially deluded lefties using it as one more excuse to exercise their passion of telling others how to live.

The Truth Hurts! Looking forward to the calamity of COP26. Praying for a few power cuts, snow and some quarantines due to Covid. O/T I noticed the last 2 days that BM reports frequency graph is all over the place, obviously just a glitch as the lights are still on.

I am thinking entirely of the delegates when I say there is a good chance of them catching covid due to Scotland’s high incidence rate.

They will be socialising, visiting restaurants, scooting round in cars with other delegates and possibly infected drivers.

Whilst we would all be devastated, for the sake of their own health I think we need to Cancel; COVID26

    “So much for free speech!”

Speech has never been free; It’s been a constant battle throughout history & millions have died trying to obtain it.
Every time you think you’ve achieved it, another tyrant pops up to stop you (like ‘Wack a Mole’), at the moment there’s a worldwide concerted effort of speech & thought suppression.

    Another book recommendation …

Another good book is “Scared to Death” by Richard North and Christopher Booker. Climate and covid are just the latest, but probably the biggest, so far…

The latest version has been updated by Dr North to include Covid from the point of is it or isn’t a real ‘scare’.

A new version of another great Booker-North book, The Great Deception, is now available that extends to our exit from the EU with the previous chapters edited down since Dr North was not allowed any extra pages. He made a very interesting point that when they put together the original book there were no online archives. They had to spend many days at Kew. Just imagine that kind of research.

There is no need to change gas boilers as robust modelling from the IPCC, UK Met Office et al shows that in a few years time there will be a precipitous drop in UK heating degree days.

So before my gas boiler is forcibly changed I won’t need heating any longer, so what’s the point as my heating carbon footprint will be nil. That is what net zero means, and that is what the AGW believers believe, Greta says the planet is overheating!

Although at my age, nothing much surprise me anymore, but having grown up in a society where people could largely express opinions without much fear, I do find this story quite sad and disturbing. It appears that we can now only express certain, correct opinions.

With reference to an earlier post about COP 26 delegates catching Covid because of the high incidence in Scotland. Covid is largely an urban problem. In the Central belt, they also have to face Sturgeon disease. I live in Scotland and know of very few cases of either of these infections. One of the many reasons to live in the middle of nowhere.

Over the years I’ve known two people who died from Flu, the latest less than ayear before “The Pandemic” began. I still don’t know anyone who has died as a result of “The Pandemic”, in fact I only know of a handful who’ve tested positive and fewer who have had it at similar level to Flu.

The science is definitely not settled. The fact they said it was is the biggest con in history. This misleading narrative, which usefully employs fear, has gained so much momentum with the media and so many politicians behind it, it’s difficult to see how we can ever get back to actually discussing it rationally. Eco idiots like Boris will wreck our country before the truth gets anywhere near the surface,

The Henrik Svensmark research is a classic example of how the science is definitely not settled. He has been struggling to get recognition for his work for nearly 25 years. If you watch some of his earlier presentations, he is literally laughed at by so called climate experts. However, his and his colleges hard work has actually paid off. The team actually proved their theory but will anyone listen – I very much doubt it.

    • October 26, 2021 11:18 am

A problem for Svensmark is that the climate doesn’t show obvious 11-year, or solar cycle period length, cycles. This is sometimes used to dismiss his studies, although as your link says:

‘The solar effects in this study are too short-lived to have a lasting effect on the climate, but they point the way to research that could uncover how the mechanism works on longer timescales.’

I think it will take another 1962/63 Winter to change a few minds. I remember first snow (in Bournemouth then) was Boxing Day ’62 and it lasted until late March ’63! Considering the population is now 50% more than then it will be interesting to see how power and transport would manage if it should happen.

      • October 26, 2021 11:35 am

        Harry,

I also remember that year very well. My school in Hull stayed open throughout and we only had a paraffin stove in one corner of each classroom! We could only use pencils as the inks had frozen.
Is it only me that has noticed severe winters in 1947, add 16 years to 1962/3, add 16 years to 1978/9 then 1984/5 then 2010?
In December 2010 (when COP whatever was in Copenhagen) UK electricity demand hit the record of 61.5GW and never went below 50GW for over 48 hours. Our present system simply could not sustain that load if the wind was not blowing.

And Mr Passfield, if those saying that the planet is cooling are correct, there will be more than one 62/63 type Winter to come. I was around then but yet to make a year old so don’t remember much other than being told it was months before I could be put outside in my pram.

I remember the winter of ’62-’63 very well. I was living in student digs in London and sharing a basement room. We had to break up the ice in the toilet cistern before we could flush it! In 2010/11, where I live, I recall that we had almost 4 months when the outside temperature was well below freezing, night and day.

In that winter a group of us (all about 12 yo) went for a walk from the highest point north of Hastings on the day after when the winds had died, across the fields, to a country lane we knew well. I recall the total disorientation as we sunk deeper into the snow not recognising any landmarks until we realised we were walking along the tops of the hedges bordering the lane, about ten feet above road level.
I eventually told my parents about our trip some ten years later, I just hope the farmers had enough warning to move their stock.

Very enterprising of David Craig.I’m not sure what driving the van around London would achieve except in the financial business district where the grim prospect of large scale impoverishment might be recognised by the money makers. It must be infuriating for a zealot to see a van in the street whose message would deny a purpose and a constituency.

It is time that the tabloid editors made more of the loss of living standards and not just the cost of boilers and hydrogen generation before the readership succumbs to the propaganda and makes the editors hesitant about alienating ‘their public’. The pro crises advertising on TV is despicable. But like the pro-remain output by the Government in the media before the referendum there is precedent for using public money to support the political objectives of a party in government.

If it wasn’t so serious one might see the funny side. For years on end there were always scruffy individuals wandering up and down the high street clad in a sandwich board proclaiming: “The End of the World is Nigh.” They were seen as loopy but harmless.

Now we have governments proclaiming just that, and it is anything but harmless, whilst sane individuals have to parade the equivalent of the sandwich board, that van, shouting the truth.

    • October 26, 2021 2:50 pm

“the truth” reminds me of the quote by the character Senator Charles F. Meachum in the film Shooter, “the truth is what I say it is” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlEo8PQChG4).
Why do I get the feeling that’s Boris’ and the whole cabal’s mindset!
Why do I get the feeling no amount of truth via rational argument and actual data will have the slightest effect on them!
Why do I get the feeling only nature herself will demonstrate the truth!
Why do I get the feeling even that will be too late!
Or perhaps only mass revolt by the populous will make any difference.

On a micro-scale, I have found that several young friends of my kids have been massively upset when I have explained the real basis for the fear-campaign and tried to explain the poor scientific basis of AGW. They always go back to asking how could the media and “scientists” be wrong. None believe that there is total refusal by the media to allow contrary views to be expressed, and these views are rejected as heretical.

Some of you will have watched more of Channel Four’s item on Antarctica last night. I missed most of it and turned over. They highlighted the record high temperature in part of the continent but ignored the record low temperatures elsewhere. As I read it, the high was on a peninsula not even in the Arctic Circle. The low was across the great mass of the land area. Now I must watch all C4 stuff with a more jaundiced eye…If you saw more, please let us all know. Maybe I was too limited in my viewing…

The first responsibility of a government of a democratic nation state is the “Protection & Provision” of its electors. Unfortunately Johnson, Starmer & Davy have long forgotten this. Even more worrying is the fact that the majority members of the house of commons have also reneged on this duty. It will end it tears at the ballot box once the massive fall in standard of living of the electors is revealed in the full light of day

There have been many excellent books highlighting the flaws in the arguments of those who detect a global catastrophe behind every unusual weather event and two of these are “The mythology of global warming” by Bruce C. Bunker and more recently “Unsettled” by Steven E. Koonin who is a former undersecretary of state for science in the US department of energy
but a book which puts all the climate change hysterics in true perspective is “What really happened in Wuhan” by Sharri Markson.
This incredibly deeply researched work with its shocking revelations about the true origins of the cause of the death of over 5 million people worldwide and the careless manipulations of newly discovered viruses in laboratories controlled by the Chinese Military clearly demonstrates where the true future danger of human annihilation lies.
