I find the apparent lack of security surrounding the generators strange.

I expect Roger Harrabin to be all over this hypocrisy on this evening’s BBC “news”!

The Greenie Weenies are leftists. Most “protesters” and saboteurs are leftists. No need to protect yourself from your own shock troops.

“OUR old friend fossil fuels” keeping UN “Save The Planet” delegates warm and toasty in Bonn!

Another one for the “you can’t make this stuff up” file! Lol.

All those nasty emissions, and that’s just inside the debating halls.

  4. November 14, 2017 12:21 pm

Doesn’t Bonn have any buildings? Why are they meeting inside a balloon?

  5. November 14, 2017 12:42 pm

So they fly themselves in by the thousands, burn loads of diesel at the conference site and then tell the world they shouldn’t be doing either of these things. Moronic.

I’m surprised how far away the genset is – haven’t the IPCC heard of Ohms Law? A nice bit of “Global Warming” going on there…

    • November 14, 2017 5:02 pm

?Joule’s Law… but I reckon the reason for the cable length is justified by the need to keep up appearances.

Let’s hope the gardener doesn’t put a spade through them though. Imagine the inflatables slowly collapsing and knocking over champagne flutes and squishing plates of Ferraro Rocher.

        “?Joule’s Law…”

No, Ohms Law, regarding resistance and power dissipation. And if the gardener puts a spade through one of them he (or she) isn’t likely to be doing it a second time…

Bonn? oh no not another one!

Fairy land comes early and it’s Christmas for the NGOs and watermelon civil servants worldwide bonanza.

from the material of the ‘big top’ to the media apparatus, pens, chairs, cameras, desks, mobile phones, transport to and fro – and heating – all of it utterly dependent on fossil fuels – somehow and somewhere – no irony then, irony bypass more like.

These gatherings are just a bunch of wet Marxist wimin and eunuchoids emoting in groupthink, tripping, dreaming impossibilities and of devolving society via the green madness and…………………….so what you might say.

The problem is, we pay for it and we are paying the price for their dingbat policies because the EU-UK political elite buy in to all of the green crap.

Donald Trump doesn’t however and in saying that what will be the upshot this year?

Ah you guessed it, more and more and more but next year!!

“OK guys!” we’ll make plans for the years after the five years hence and so it goes, Bonn – this is just a talking shop about next years talking shop and get together……………….ad infinitum.

Alas, until someone puts an end to the UN and Donald Trump dances on its grave.

This is brilliant, not even an attempt to use wind and solar backed up by diesel. Proper investigative reporting from Sheila Gunn Reid. It would be interesting to get a petition started to ban the use of fossil fuels in COP climate conferences, and no backdoor dealing in carbon credits.

Here’s another one where she says greenpeace has a diesel powered sailboat:

It’s really quite odd actually as the generator rentals company aggreko are really trying to boost their clean generator business with hybrids, gas sets, special low carbon diesel fuel etc.

I’m presuming that the UN buyers didn’t want to pay the eco levy / piety premium for cleaner running generators…. = we’ll take the cheapest ta….

I heard that the Formula E “electric Formula 1” racecars are followed from circuit to circuit by a fleet of diesel generators.

Those executive marquees are usually heated by propane heaters by the way… The bootles will likely have some logo’d up PVC canvas covers 🙂

“…boost their clean generator business with hybrids…”

I like hybrid cars but hybrid gensets would make little sense since they run at a relatively constant speed. Adding an electric generator/motor to a genset’s powertrain would result in more capital expense than fuel efficiency.

And there’s me thinking that these eco-conscious delegates would refuse to use anything other than renewable power.
    What complete and utter hypocrites.
    These lowlifes make me puke.
