Hundreds more wind turbines could be built off the Norfolk and Suffolk coast, potentially bringing thousands of skilled jobs to the region.

Blah, blah!!

This attracted the following comments very quickly:

It appears that the EDP would rather kow tow to businessmen looking to fleece the public for obscene subsidies than let its readers see the facts.

UPDATE

Just to note that Comments have now been restored, seemingly Monday morning.

Sorry…. the only surprising thing about that is that any of us should actually be surprised.

hmmm…. maybe ask EDP if they’ll accept a freelance piece on windfarms and publish the reply?

You can ask. Don’t write the article up ahead of time, though…..

Don’t waste your time – I’ve given up writing letters as they either don’t get published, or do but subtly edited to change the meaning. And since Paul had an article published in sister paper the East Anglian Daily Times a while back they seem to be wise to any attempts at upsetting local businesses.

East Anglian Daily Times Letters Page – Reaction To Climate Week Supplement

After those initial letters (mostly from people outside their distribution area) quite a few “locals” wrote in objecting to such unwelcome viewpoints!

After all is said and done, this is the same august journal that bigged-up the Norwich ‘Generation Park’ scheme to burn straw to power the UAE to enable them to carry-on spouting AGW crap. It has entered a CVA (although I don’t know how many of the £30-50 million owed to creditors was ‘voluntarily’ arranged.
Hey Ho… never mind, they have said that they’ll come back for another try! (If they can find a few more virtue-signalling mugs).
These green guys and gals will spend billions on their ‘causes’ – as long as it’s someone else’s dosh.

Irrelevant. The greens only love birds when it doesn’t interfer with their agenda. A dead bird is bad if oil kills it. It’s no big deal if wind does. Honestly, if we have kill every bird to save the planet from warming 1.5 degrees…..Yes, they are evil and crazy.

        Well said.

I have a question though. Where do “genuine Badger hair” shaving brushes come from?

I’m not aware of any Badger farms, nor Badger shearing operatives, nor have I seen any newly shorn Badgers gambolling in the spring. Nor do I believe road kill collections would prove a reliable source of Badger hair.

Is there such a thing as a wild Badger chase?

“A dead bird is bad if oil kills it.”

Not entirely accurate. The greens really love it when oil kills a bird. The more, the better provided they can get photos. It really boosts the donation stream, you know.

        Much obliged.

Jobs are a cost, NOT A BENEFIT.

Rate payers will be paying for these wonderful, well paid jobs.

Yes, GC, you’re right, but jobs that create wealth and generally improve society are a benefit. Jobs funded by subsidies and taxpayers and which create nowt are a real drain on society

Has anyone like me stared with incredulity at the posts attached to the Ørsted propaganda outpourings on Linkedin? The lack of objectivity is breathtaking. It seems there are two groups who post nothing but gushing adulation, those currently working for the taxpayer subsidy profit organization and those who want to work for the tax payer subsidy profit organization all vying with eachother to see who can be more obsequious in their praise for the company as if their employment depend on recording unstinting praise. We do indeed live in strange times….

Just a query. Were these two comments deleted after your screenshot or were they left in place with the comments disabled caption beneath? If the latter I would call that a spectacular own goal. If the former, still an own goal but less so.
