Who Is Dr Tedros?

April 5, 2020

By Paul Homewood

We have been getting used to being lectured by the WHO chief, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on how we should be tackling coronavirus.

There have however been concerns raised in the press about the WHO’s cover up of China’s responsibility in all of this. Rebel News, the Canadian news site, has a disturbing video of his background and how his involvement with China runs much deeper than generally thought.

Above all, the investigation raises serious concerns about how other UN roles are filled, often to the detriment of the West:

There was a very good piece in The Spectator (I think) the other day about the WHO’s appeasement of China and the ways in which this exacerbated the outbreak. Not just this guy either: a Canadian underling of his is apparently also very much to blame.

“The WHO Director General is Tedros Adhanom of Ethiopia. From 2012 – 2016 he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the one party government that rules Ethiopia. This is the same party that borrowed billions from China to build a railway line, then struggles to pay it back. In Africa, Ethiopia is the second largest debtor nation to China — owing $13 billion.”

“…Tedros said it is admirable that the Chinese government has shown its solid political resolve and taken timely and effective measures in dealing with the epidemic.

President Xi’s personal guidance and deployment show his great leadership capability, Tedros said.

He said that China has released information in an open and transparent manner, identified the pathogen in a record-short time and shared the genetic sequence of the novel coronavirus in a timely manner with the WHO and other countries.

China’s measures are not only protecting its people, but also protecting the people in the whole world, he said.

Hailing the high speed and massive scale of China’s moves are rarely seen in the world, Tedros said it showed China’s efficiency and the advantages of China’s system. (i.e. Communism). The experience of China is worth learning for other countries, he said, adding that he believes the measures China has taken will effectively control and finally prevail over the epidemic.”

“Communist China told the world in early January there was no evidence that its Wuhan coronavirus spread human-to-human even as medical whistleblowers were warning of an epidemic and authorities shut down a wild animal market.

“No new cases have been detected since January 3, 2020,” the Wuhan Health Commission said on Jan. 10. “At present, no medical staff infections have been found, and no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission has been found.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) relied on China’s assurances, using some of the exact words.

On Jan. 15, WHO tweeted to the world, “According to the latest information we have, there is no clear evidence of sustained human-to-human transmissions and there are no infections reported among health care workers.” Five days later, China acknowledged humans-to-human spread, but on Jan. 19 the national health commission told the world the disease was “preventable and controllable.””

A mysterious new virus that was first reported in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in December and has since spread to two other domestic cities and several countries in the Asian region is raising fears of an epidemic like the deadly SARS outbreak that hit the region nearly two decades ago.

In the wake of numerous airlines cancelling flights to China and businesses including Starbucks and McDonald’s temporarily closing hundreds of shops, Tedros said WHO was not recommending limiting travel or trade to China.

“There is no reason for measures that unnecessarily interfere with international travel and trade,” he said. He added that Chinese President Xi Jinping had committed to help stop the spread of the virus beyond its borders.

“The Committee’s role is to give advice to the Director-General, who makes the final decision on the determination of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

The Committee welcomed the leadership and political commitment of the very highest levels of Chinese government, their commitment to transparency, and the efforts made to investigate and contain the current outbreak. China quickly identified the virus and shared its sequence, so that other countries could diagnose it quickly and protect themselves, which has resulted in the rapid development of diagnostic tools.”

Seems to me that the next war will be in Africa. And all those children in England who have been taught that the Brits were nasty ‘colonialists’ will have to rethink their views on China – assuming their teachers will allow it on the syllabus.

The earliest case in the UK has been tracked back to mid January. He had been skiing and, presumably, hadn’t caught it from a bat.
It’s also interesting that, by halving pollution limits for NO2, the UN was able to make modern diesel engines illegal and cleanair london and client earth were able to run campaigns and legal challenges. The former is run by a long standing member of CP and the latter an activist lawyer with funding from the British ministry for foreign aid and development.
The result has been the closure of European diesel industry despite new engines being able to run with zero NO2, and the move to electric motors, which are in the hands of Chinese manufacturing and mining
      of essential materials.

Steve. Good call. You also add to that the EU regulation for vehicle emissions is inclusive of all vehicles in a manufacturer’s range. So, in order to reach the limit manufacturer’s have to produce zero emission electric cars.
EVs are not being built voluntarily.

I suspect much earlier. A Birming8man landed in the UK from Wuhan on 28th December. He subsequently had “bad flu”. He went to his GP at the end of January and mentioned it and was tested, but he was negative – but it was too late by then. He was probably spreading it around Birmingham on News Years Eve, which us why the Midlands gas the highest infection rate per head in the UK. I simply cannot see any way CV has reached all corners of the UK so quickly, assuming a first case in mid to late January.

He seems to be a thoroughly unsavory character who should be given the boot.

Just learned yesterday that the good Dr. Tedros is NOT a medical doctor, but has several degrees leaning towards public health:University of Asmara (BSc); London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (MSc);University of Nottingham (PhD).

Of great interest are his political affiliations: Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front and Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front.

        Need we say more?

        Agred with Philip Bratby.
Cannot think of any world benefit justifying its huge costs, no doubt underwritten by the USA.

President Trump ought to consider that saving of waste, as he has rightly done with the wholly speculative CO2 curtailment.

It’s not speculation to doubt anything the UN now offers, as the “East River Debating Society”.

I am also going to stick my head above the parapet and say this clapping for carers business is mental.

It’s a faux-sentimentalized lionization, it isn’t a spontaneous act, it has all the hallmarks of psychological manipulation and behavioral control, akin ‘compulsory’ mass participation events like publicly max-grieving for a dead N.Korean leader.

I notice V for Vendetta has been repeated a lot lately, a timely warning.

Quite agree. As a bit of an iconoclast, Guy Fawkes was one of my heroes in my youth so V for Vendetta was right up my street and, as you say, provides ‘a timely warning’. Anyone with an iota of critical thinking ability knows that the WHO is not fit for purpose, Tedros is a Chinese puppet and, as for Professor ‘Mad Cow’ Ferguson, if you want accurate models stick to Airfix or Lego.

…this clapping for carers business is mental.

I feel I have to agree, GN. I took part in the first ‘clap’ but then, I asked myself why? On balance, the NHS has seen the premature demise of two of my brothers (cock-ups) and my stepfather-in-law (another cock-up), so why did I clap. Yes, the current set of nurses etc are working in challenging conditions but I have to wonder, what is the value of a corona virus life compared to that of a guy going over the top on the Somme, when many thousands were lost on day one?

OK, one could think that crass, but WW1 – and WWII – demanded the re-structuring of society and its finance because of an identifiable enemy. This fight is based on models. Haigh didn’t have models. Was he any better? Are we? Is our future?

      • April 7, 2020 11:27 am

When I first saw “clap for carers”, I thought it a little unfair…

To be brutal, we now have (overstated) CV deaths equal to the low estimate of avoidable deaths caused by the NHS each year.

To be more brutal, I’m not sure the NHS has “saved” anybody so far. The deaths are pretty much those who would have died anyway, and the actual CV deaths are beyond our medical abilities. Its technology that saves people, not those who plug us in to the technology.

Sommer, thanks for this thought provoking video.

Let Coronavirus collapse the world’s economies, then order everyone to have vaccines so that Big Pharma and China can profit, on a massive scale.

When Dr Shiva breaks it down with the need for Truth, Freedom and Health, the arguments are exactly the same as with the Climate Alarm system. Big government seeking world control 1984 style.

So now my wife and I will drop our sugar intake to reduce candida levels and boost our immune systems with lots of Vitamins A,D and C along with a touch of iodine.

      A life lesson learnt!

chaamjamal, excellent article as far as it goes.

Now look at such unaccountable agencies as the UN ‘Peace Keepers’ and see the level of bureaucratic bungling, corruption, and the amoral carelessness so endemic in that agency (and many others). They (‘Peace Keepers’) appear to be the model that all other UN agencies take their cue from and aspire to become.

It’s the UN’s bureaucratic-administrative system of law and rules that is reconcilable with the wide provision of open-ended excuses. The UN has a well recorded history to favour such excuses where officials (charged with securing the public interest) control the very circumstances that result in deploying such excuses or exceptions. These UN agencies have a masterful understanding in deploying ‘bureaucratic drag’ before any action is taken, are quick to use ready made ‘convenient excuses’ after the action fails and so can then justify demands for more money and enlarged bureaucratic expenses.
All of this ensures that the UN will further expand to the detriment of the nation state, as they seek to control everyone’s lives while offering less freedoms, less accountability, and more expense.

Maybe we need a UNEXIT campaign to free us from the meddling of these over-bureaucratic bunglers and profiteers of public money.

      • April 6, 2020 11:37 am

Yes sir. We need a UNexit. Thank you for your excellent analysis with which I fully agree. The UN is an unconstrained rogue bureaucracy out of control.

Some of the protagonists of that time are again prominently represented in the current situation”
