Agenda 21

Reposted from Roger Helmer’s blog:

Wikipedia defines the UN’s Agenda 21 as “An action plan of the United Nations with regard to sustainable development”.  Of course we immediately recognise the phrase “sustainable development” as weasel words, a catch-all term incorporating a host of modish obsessions.  Much of the activity described as “sustainable” is clearly unsustainable – for example, the EU/UK energy policy which is doing such huge economic damage across the continent.  A better phrase for the UN’s Agenda 21 might be “An action plan with regard to climate alarmism and carbon dioxide paranoia” – though it covers a wide range of other fashionable leftist issues as well.

The odd thing is that most people have simply not heard of Agenda 21 – although local authorities across the country, and government institutions across the world, at national and local level, have signed up to it.  There’s even a cultural dimension.  Clearly then, Agenda 21 is a key part of the UN’s global governance pretensions, and it seeks to drive policies which generally speaking are pretty unpalatable to our party.

One party member, Anne-Marie Smith, has been particularly exercised over Agenda 21, and frustrated that it seems to operate under the radar, with citizens and voters largely unaware of it.  I invited her to put her thoughts into a few hundred words, and I promised to run them as a guest blog.  Here they are:

UN Agenda 21 – Anne-Marie Smith

Few political discussions are now taking place without some mention of whether Britain would be better served by removing itself from the EU. However our politicians and MSM seem strangely quiet about the real elephant in the room: UN – Agenda 21.

Perhaps the reason for this, is that its influence has now spread so widely into all government institutions throughout the World, without revealing to citizens the true nature and intentions of the agenda. Indeed it has now been adopted by many local councils in Britain as Local Agenda 21.

It was back in 1992 that the Earth Summit was held in Rio de Janeiro, and here 179 nations officially signed up to Agenda 21 — many more have followed since. Maurice Strong has been the driving force behind the imposition of Agenda 21, and was also a member of the UN’s Commission on Global Governance. Below are several quotes by Maurice Strong that I feel make scary reading.

“Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialised civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?” (Founder of the UN Environment Programme)

“Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class — involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, air conditioning, and suburban housing – are not sustainable.”  (At the Rio Earth Summit)

In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that …. the threat of global warming would fit the bill ….. the real enemy then is humanity itself …..we believe humanity requires a common motivation, namely a common adversary in order to realise world government. It does not matter if this common enemy is a real one or …..one invented for the purpose.” (Maurice Strong at the Club of Rome)

Agenda 21 is actually a blueprint for the 21st century; which under the cover of environmentalism and scaremongering CAGW, is in fact, just communism resurrected in a new guise. It is clear to see, that with the various political parties producing their election manifestos, the Green Party is actually the “Agenda 21 Global Communist Party”.  UKIP on the other hand offers us an escape route; as it is the only party which will repeal the ludicrous, suicidal, 2008 Climate Change Act. That will definitely be a start.

Richard Lindzen had been talking about this for years.

Sonja Boehmer-Christiansen (editor of Energy and Environment) has been saying people arguing about ‘the science’ are missing the point. It’s a political not a scientific debate.

How many people pass maths or science GCSE? How many people understand or are even interested in the data and numbers. So long as politicians and media keep up their waffle about 2C Climate Change removing fossil fuels do most people even hear the other side case.

It is not so much people not being capable of understanding numbers, but rather people not thinking through the consequences. This is not from people being stupid. It is partly due to a huge PR industry – masquerading as a scientific consensus deflecting from the data, and sparking off in different directions. It is also partly due to a lack of definition of what “climate science” is, and a lack of demarcation between “science”, policy and ethics.

There is more about Strong and the UN here: “United (Socialist) Nations, Progress on Global Governance via Climate Change, Sustainability and Bio-Diversity”
    http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/originals/un_progress_governance_via_climate_change.html

“As the architect of the United Nations Environment Program and the United Nations Development Program, (UNEP-UNDP), Strong had for many years co-ordinated and strengthened the integration of Non-Governmental Organisations, (NGO’s) into the UN environmental bodies. In Geneva in 1973, he launched the “World Assembly of NGO’s concerned with the Global Environment”. He realised that for his ambitions of a UN world government to become reality he needed the vast networking opportunities offered by the NGO’s, now referred to as “Civil Society”.

    “Commission on Global Governance, (CGG)

The CGG was established in 1992, after Rio, at the suggestion of Willy Brandt, former West German chancellor and President of the Socialist International.

It recommended that “user fees” should be imposed on companies operating in the “global commons.” Such fees could be collected on international airline tickets, ocean shipping, deep-sea fishing, activities in Antarctica, geostationary satellite orbits, and electromagnetic spectrum. The main revenue stream would be carbon taxes, to be levied on all fossil fuels. “A carbon tax,” the report said, would yield very large revenues indeed.”

The USA has been talking about Agenda 21 for a long time. Well done on picking this up. What is quite frightening is that it seems that “they” want to control everything including property ownership, water, energy, land use for wild life only, (all climate change nonsense) and reducing world population to 500 million. This seems to be a tiny world population which will be unable to increase trade, wealth or scientific development. But then, why bother when the few who control us have us doing their bidding as slaves anyway.

The “21” in the title refers to 2100 – the 22nd Century.

What is so frightening is that they are so open about it, especially Christiana Figueres.
But not a peep about it anywhere in the MSM.

Carbon Taxes go hand in hand with the Degrowth Agenda which is also part of the Agenda 21 mantra. The Green Party has a policy of Trading Energy Quotas (TEQ’s) which has been honed in recent years but this idea was originally created by the late David Fleming formerly of the Ecology Party of the early Seventies.

    TEQ’s here..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tradable_Energy_Quotas

Fleming was one of the founder members of the Green Party and also had a hand in the Transition Town idea. Don’t underestimate how far this twisted ‘sustainability’ dogma has penetrated some of our most cherished democratic institutions ladies and gents.

Gaia does indeed live on, just under a different name.

Promotion of the fear of carbon dioxide, is one of their methods to get the ignorant masses willingly behaving in accordance with, and contributing their money to, the cause.

This is a naked tax on the middle classes.

And will fail because the feared ‘warming’ isn’t coming and not everyone lives in Los Angeles. So I foresee a full revolt against these taxes and impositions. This is also why attention is being directed at Putin, not our rulers. Oh, look! Putin is mean!

Then they twist our arms for more money for themselves.

A surprising convergence: I just finished reading a fictional novel co-authored by Glenn Beck about this issue. Thought it was part of the “tin-foil hat” community except that the appendix to the book was a survey of the UN documents. I’m part of an academic community, and “sustainability” has been a catchword for about a decade now. I’ve never considered it more than a fad. I’ll be more alert to the issue now.

At a news conference in Brussels Feb.2015,Christiana Figueres admitted that the goal of the Greens is to destroy capitalism, and that an international treaty to be signed in Paris in October this year will further this aim.
Cameron,Clegg, and Milliband have just signed a joint pledge to drive this country into a low carbon economy, which will destroy our industry, and our capitalist economic structure.
Why do they hate this nation and its people so much that they want to drive us back into the dark ages.

Agenda 21 is under the general public’s radar because it’s designed that way. The people won’t know the details until it’s too late. Today when ‘Agenda21′ is brought to people’s attention they view it as a conspiracy theory and don’t give it any credence but already people have lost property or been forced to pay CO2 taxes under its’ guise. How civilized democratic governments signed up for this is beyond my comprehension. Agenda21 cedes all government and authority worldwide to a single non elected entity….despite the tricky wording in the document trying to make it sound “voluntary”. I would like to believe that when/as more people understand what Agenda21 represents they will be moved to take action against it.

In Technocracy Rising, The Trojan Horse of Global Transformation, author Patrick M.Wood traces Agenda 21, sustainable development, carbon trading etc. back to even before the 1930’s when a social movement called Technocracy, Inc. was popular in the USA, Canada and in Germany where they did not use energy credits, referred to as ‘energy dollars’, somewhat similar to carbon trading.

The movement was eventually outlawed in Canada because it was considered subversive. It died in the 40’s because Americans were not willing to give up their private property rights or sovereignty or capitalism.

In the 1970’s Zbigniew Brzezinski wrote a book about the movement and added some ideas of his own, extending the ideas to an international level. Technocracy means that an elite will decide everything for everyone internationally based on science. David Rockefeller found the ideas appealing. He and Brzezinski made a presentation to the Bilderberg group who apparently liked the idea. In 1972, the two formed the Trilateral Commission and invited 300 industrialists, academics, political types and others from North America, Japan and Europe to join.

One of those was Jimmy Carter who Brzezinski took under his wing, educated in technocracy and put forward as a presidential candidate. When Carter became President Carter, Brzezinski and at least 19 other Trilateral commissioners were in senior government positions. Every administration since then, Republican or Democrat, has had Trilaterals in senior positions. On the Trilateral Commission website you can find who from each of the western countries represents your country and thus contributes to transforming government, law , religion and even transforming humanity.

It is an embarrassment to me that I fail when I try to link to sites. You can buy the book, published in February 2015, from Patrick Wood’s own site at http://www.technocracyrising.com and at amazon. in both paperback and kindle.

One group to pay attention to, is Transition Towns. Alhough many people are in it with their heart, they know not what they do. TT follows the agenda with out even realizing it, they have infiltrated city committees, hold council seats. They have gotten on the Food Security committee, Air Quality Committee, and even hold office. They, depending on your city council may have access to funds of up to $50,000.00 to implement these plans plans. If a bylaw sounds good, check it out carefully…
