Arctic tours ship MS MALMO with 16 passengers on board got stuck in ice on Sep 3 off Longyearbyen, Svalbard Archipelago, halfway between Norway and North Pole. The ship is on Arctic tour with Climate Change documentary film team, and tourists, concerned with Climate Change and melting Arctic ice. All 16 Climate Change warriors were evacuated by helicopter in challenging conditions, all are safe. 7 crew remains on board, waiting for Coast Guard ship assistance.
Something is very wrong with Arctic ice, instead of melting as ordered by UN/IPCC, it captured the ship with Climate Change Warriors.

“The ship is on Arctic tour with Climate Change documentary film team… concerned with Climate Change and melting Arctic ice.”
They may have to change the story line from Ice Melting Horror story to Ice Crushing Horror story.

I’ll bet that they simply cancel the doc.

Great to see a load ‘clever dicks’ getting their just desserts with ice!

Yet another diesel-powered climate tour ship in a sea ice fiasco.

Will they ever learn? Probably not 😂

      And evacuated by a fossil-fuel guzzling helicopter…awaiting a fossil-fuel powered ship. Irony.

Funny how AFTER it happened MSM has been publishing climate-fear-project stuff about Longyearbyen without mentioning the stranding.

God forbid, the Arctic might become habitable … (just not this year)

Actually it was only stuck for a day
\\ The Swedish expedition vessel MS Malmö, which yesterday got stuck in ice in the Hinlopen Strait, has managed to get loose again and is now attempting to leave the area, according to iTromsø. //
The ship is not reinforced so standard procedure to evacuate the passengers.

The government ice breaker cleared a path for it
“The ship is trying to copy Ludolf Schjelderup Spitsbergen trip that took place 88 years ago
and is part of the Klimatokt Svalbard Rundt. Climate Svalbard Rundt” project

This sounds like a waste of resources to have a government icebreaker involved because they used an unsuitable ship to sail into ice. It is not as if their journey is important.

Isn’t this September, when ice area and volume are at an annual minimum?
    If an icebreaker does not get there quickly, they will be frozen in all winter and next year;
maybe for all of the next ice age.
Longyearbyen is some 800 miles from the North Pole; there is a lot of ice that was not supposed to be there at the end of summer.

The Canadian Coast Guard issues ice reports daily. Yet I have heard MSM report conditions that contrAdict what the CCG has issued for the day. Very poor researching of the ice conditions by MSM.

LOLROTF. The article’s author is a seasoned merchant marine captain with a sense of humor. He observes, “Something is very wrong with Arctic ice, instead of melting as ordered by UN/IPCC, it captured the ship with Climate Change Warriors.”

Regarding the solar panel story. I have no sympathy whatsoever. These schemes were subsidised by taxpayers, these people were happy to use solar panels as a way of stealing from me. They lost money instead, boo effing hoo.

This story cannot be true, as neither Roger Harrabin, nor David Shukman nor Matt McGrath has covered it on the BBC.

This bad trip was presented as full proof of unstoppable warming in the Dutch MSM , especially NRC newspaper with a full front page contribution to this publicity-desaster .
Not a word about the actual facts only a comeuppance of narrative , narrative and more propaganda . No wonder nobody is interested in these publications any longer and their cry for new subsidies .

According to this chart from Danish Met Office, the volume is now rising again, after the seasonal melt, from a low almost identical to the lows of of other, recent, years.

Extent is reduced somewhat, off the coast of Siberia, due to winds from lands to the South. However, extent and thickness in the Central Arctic (the largest sub-area, at three million square kilometers) held steady throughout summer.

  17. September 9, 2019 10:25 am

    Ah, well…

    I’m not an icebreaker,
    I’m an icebreaker’s son
    And I’m only breaking ice
    ’til the icebreaker comes

  18. September 9, 2019 12:18 pm

I am so relieved that they got out of the North Pole ice in time to scoot to Antarctica and get caught in the South Pole ice. WE don’t want them to miss a season.

The sea-ice around Antarctica is presently reaching an extent of over eighteen million square kilometers. Since this winter maximum shows no significant shrinking, which could be attributed to global warming, it is not reported anywhere in MSM.

      • September 9, 2019 7:33 pm

Just remember…..global warming will cause more ice as well as less, more snow storms as well as fewer, more hurricanes as well as fewer…….you get the drift. Just don’t drift into any large icebergs.
