Andrew Neill Destroys XR’s Eco Wally

October 10, 2019

By Paul Homewood

Finally there seems to a fight back against the eco loons of Extinction Rebellion. Andrew Neil thoroughly takes apart this wally from XR. (about 20 mins in)

There has also been a highly critical article in the Telegraph today, as well as in the Mail this week.

Naturally of course the eco nutters are still treated as being serious people by the BBC, but the message seems to be hitting home now, confirming what most normal people already believe:

1) There is no “climate emergency”

2) UK emissions are so tiny that eliminating them will have no effect at all.

3) The UK is already fast reducing emissions, but at a huge cost.

3) To get to zero carbon will cost much more, even if possible. And will utterly transform people’s lives for the worst.

4) Eliminating emissions globally will condemn most of the world’s poor to eternal poverty.

5) We have a democratic system of govt. If people agree with the lions, they can vote for the Green Party. XR have no right to stop ordinary people from going about their business.

The BBC would still like you to believe that XR are a serious body, who represent millions of normal  people. In fact they are a rabble who have little public support, and no justification morally or scientifically for what they are doing.

Hopefully the government might now take the hint, and treat them as the bunch of anarchists that they really are

I thought that AN did a good job. He had done his homework and stIcking to the IPCC orthodoxy meant that our opponents can’t go accusing him of denialism. ER woman displayed her ignorance and stupidity in spades. She complained that the government were not doing enough to combat climate change but when challenged on what they should be doing she hadn’t a clue. He missed a trick when she mentioned agriculture, if agriculture was to go to zero emissions by 2025, billions would die of starvation.

She was easy meat. I would have been far more impressed if Neil hadn’t been so subservient to the accepted global think. What a pity he didn’t point out Mann’s discreditation when she referred to his comments. He is a good political interviewer but sadly treads the safe line.

Shell were reported as intending to add a penny to your bill to stop climate change. No sign of that yet otherwise BP here I come!

They are pushing their energy as well but I checked and it will cost me £150 more for my electricity with them. They don’t do gas separately.

I believe that Neil was being smart by accepting the climate change agenda in this interview. By quoting the agreed scientific information he was able to expose the XR rep as an I’ll informed stuttering fraud. Had he discussed whether or not climate change is real, she could have made him look like some spluttering old gammon when this clip is replayed on YouTube.

Once again, Neil showed why he is a peerless political interviewer who instinctively understands his victims weakness.

Whilst there has been a clarion call for the police to lock these morons up, they have instead done everyone a favour and left them alone.

It may not make the police look great, but they would have looked an awful lot worse had they started cracking skulls.

As it is, public opinion is now rapidly rising against the eco nuts, with luvvies flying in on jets to events, as a bit of PR for themselves, and employing a child with mental health problems (Pedophrasty, I believe, yes, the act of using children to make a point is a known phenomenon which has a title) as well as grinding cities to a halt to promote their cause.

Some of us are old enough to rmember the 60’s and 70’s when strikes were almost daily events causing disruption to everyones lives. That all went the way XR will go when the authorities catch up with tactics to deal with these people.

However, what mustn’t be forgotten is that when arrested, the XR protesters are likely to have been DNA swabbed and fingerprinted. The DWP will have been out with long lens camera’s identifying people who shouldn’t be there and the police will also have recorded all the faces of the offenders.

There may well be a lot of doors getting knocked to deliver summonses most of these reprobates wouldn’t expect.

Yes, Though the policing is soft they have arrested over 1000 in london so far. All will be convicted of public order offences and though fines are likely to be derisory (and paid by soros, getty, grantham and other billionaire hedge fund supporters who make mints in carbon rip-off schemes), They will all have police records with all their data recorded for future monitoring. We employers will be able to see their offence records and avoid offering employment to these morons.

She didn’t offer one solution nor one piece of scientific evidence. AN looked quite frustrated, perhaps because he had to attack her views but was hampered by not being able to offer counter arguments to CC. He had to toe the BBC party line or that would have been the last we saw of him on TV. Compared with other interviews AN has held I thought he was quite gentle yet still managed to make this girl look like a complete fool.

What comes across to me is that these youngsters are genuinely scared of climate change.
I felt the same in the 60s regarding the Atom Bomb when there was the CND movement. There is a word for it ‘Scaremongering’.
However the uncertainty this is creating regarding the the type of fuels that are to be permitted has made the consumer reluctant to buy a new car in case the government penalises it by taxation in the future.
This in turn is creating a recession.
Youngsters should be scared by the risk of recession as this will make it harder for them to find employment when they have finished schooling.

Bridge of Spies (an excellent film anyway) has a scene early on showing the fear of nuclear war instilled in a child in the 1960s. As someone who has and always had a fatalistic outlook, I can’t change it so get on with life until it happens, I often wonder if the people who worried about nuclear armageddon are those who have been worried about all the other scares over the last 50 odd years. I think they probably have.

I watched An live and was disappointed he didn’t have longer for her to dig herself a deeper hole.

Incidentally, I hesiitated when writing “humiliate.” How quickly will this turn into a remorseless attack on a defenceless, sincere young woman? Look in the Guardian first?

Unfortunately, all TV interviewers do not ask the right questions because they are ignorant of the simple facts such as how can a trace gas, essential for all life on Earth, be blamed for global warming or – where is their evidence that extreme weather events are more frequent? It is no good us pontificating from our armchairs; I recommend getting out and speaking to people to find out what they know about the climate and then provide them with some simple facts. From my limited experience, the vast majority have basically accepted the narrative presented by the appallingly biassed BBC and the supine acceptance of the narrative by politicians the world over and not done any individual research – because they are too busy getting on with their lives. Their response has all been favourable.

  14. October 11, 2019 10:08 am

Andrew Neill made a good point about how many were killed in the past by extreme weather events compared to now. A huge reduction of over 90 percent. XR main claim is that there will be more extreme weather leading to many more deaths. But with better monitoring and communication many can take action like moving to higher ground or out of the danger area.
Neil also pointed out the impracticality of the 2025-2030 zero carbon target. He hinted at the impracticality of the 2050 target. He did not tackle UK insignificant contribution compared to the rest of the world. But it is a start. Politicians know what side there bread is buttered. They will soon distance them selves from an unpopular policy.

You wrote ” the bunch of ‘anarchists’ that they really are” Honestly you are using Newspeak here.
True ‘Anarchy’ is actually not disruptive, violent and anti social.
The word refers to LAW without RULE and true anarchists are peaceful and law abiding. The tag of terrorism was given by the very people who want total control.
Anarchy means that people abide by agreed laws, agreed co-operation and live peaceably. It can work in small groups but not in large ones as there is always someone who wants to be the top knob.
In Russia when the Marxists led the revolt against the Tsar and his family, the Communists managed to flush the Anarchists into the streets, after coercing them to murder the Tsar and his family, Marx had of course gone back to Germany once the shit hit the fan. Once in the streets they were all murdered. They had previously lived quietly, publishing pamphlets in small isolated cells.

Of course Myles Allen is at the very spittle flecked loony end of the Climate “Psyentists”. He trashed any credibility he might ever have had, years ago. Predictably he didn’t even try to back his responses by reference to the political shroudwaving organisation known as the IPCC, as Andrew Neil did.

Equally predictably the interviewer didn’t press the obvious question as to how likely (even on the basis of IPCC “consensus science”) XR’s barefaced loony ‘kids dying in 10-15 years’ (or even a 4º C temperature rise) shroudwaving lies were to actually come to pass.

It is impressive that the Old Bill has arrested over 1000 of these egregious XR parasite. But the news that some of them have already been arrested for the third time, gives the game away.

I haven’t been able to find out how many of the “1000′ have actually received anything more than a Caution. Or ‘being bound over to keep the peace’ for especially stupid and malicious behaviour.

I defend anyone’s right to protest at something you disagree with (having done so myself as a teenager.)

But I also believe that, if you do the crime, you should do the time (or pay the fine.) I did.

Since the Kingsnorth Power Station protests in 2008, the Government of the day has gone to extraordinary lengths to NOT punish even the most blatant anti-social behaviour. And not just the antics of XR – what about the constant problems the ‘Swampys’ have given to the Frackers (and before them the mining industry)?
They were instrumental in destroying the latter (and tens of thousands of honest jobs) and I have little faith that the Frackers will now prevail.

I’m afraid that I believe that the ‘punishment should fit the crime’.

I suggest these hypocritical and well financed scum should be fastened to static bicycle ‘generators’ and made to keep peddling until they had generated an average ‘minute-worth’ of UK electicity demand.

A subscription model would be awesome fun. It’d be a small drop of only 90 or 95% in revenue, I’d expect. The more the BBC goes full looney the more people will ask why are they paying for it.

Just caught up with BBC’s Newswatch 11.10.19 edition, on which viewers were split as to the excess or sufficiency of BBC coverage of the XR protests. Justin Rowlett was introduced as the BBC’s new Chief Environment Correspondent.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00098f7/newswatch-11102019

He was reminded that in a 4-year stay in India, he’d reported being worried about the impact on his family of air pollution. Legitimate environmental/pollution concern, but easy to subtly link with CC.

Moving on to CC, he confirmed that the BBC policy on CC is that The Science Is Settled, so any coverage will have that as the starting point. When asked about air travel, he confirmed that he intends to carry on, with flights to India, Ethiopia and Antarctica in the next few weeks. Apparently, we won’t get it if he doesn’t broadcast from the site of the problem. In the words of the ex-prime minister, Nothing’s Changed.
