Like Jezza, it seems Greta has been telling a few porkies, if the German train company are to be believed:

* Jeremy Corbyn was also caught out a few months ago, when he publicised a picture of him sat on the floor of an inter-city train, claiming that all the seats were taken.
Unfortunately for him, CCTV footage showed plenty of spare seats!

Der Spiegel is reporting it somewhat different, in that for the first part of her journey, a train was cancelled out of Basel, hence the overfilling on that section:

Whatever Der Spiegel says, the Greta and AGW field are full of lies, motivated by deceit, misundestandings and filthy lucre.
What was worse was her Turin speech where she said the Climate Activists were going to put the world leaders against the wall if they don’t do what the activists want.
Unfortunately for her where most people come from that means “Execution”.
She has since apologised and said it was a translkation problem and it didn’t meanthat in Sweden.

There must be tens of millions of deprived kids in the 3rd world and elsewhere who can only dream of first-class rail travel, accompanied by cases full of their personal possessions.

As a keen photographer and occasional Camera Club judge I can tell you that photo looks very much like it has been setup and taken by a professional. The face lighting is superb, the luggage carefully arranged, the foot leading in, no clutter in the background. Well done that photographer!
Those were was almost exactly my first thoughts as well. Striking a pose for the camera is one thing but all those clever lighting and stage management tricks are the hallmark of a professional.
yep, careful composition, the way the bags are arranged that leads your eye to her face with the lighting to give her that messiah look.
None of the other seatless passengers or any of her retinue in the background, either.
And, what’s with all the luggage? She’s a kid. Most any young person traveling around the world – even for months – usually get by on one backpack.
Not to mention how much additional CO2 must be created because of all of the extra weight being shipped around.
Lies, lies, nothing but damn lies. Don’t ever tell me she is an innocent child. She plays the rubes like she plays a fiddle. Those things are no accident. Deutsche Bahn confirmed that she traveled first class in all comfort producing a carbon footprint of a dinosaur and she wants us to believe that she spent time on the floor. OK warmist spin doctors – how do you spin this?

Oil is not evil unless you burn it. Any process that does not release CO2 is acceptable. I don’t understand why people think other uses somehow “count”.
The “leave it in the ground crowd” may be over the top, but the theory allows uses that do not release CO2 or much thereof.
Sheri, it is because ‘other uses’ involve CO2 emissions in moulding, manufacturing and assembly processes, packaging, transport to wholesalers, more transport to retailers, perhaps even more transport to customers. Plastic does not get manufactured in sub-zero temperatures. The presses use heat and (probably) electricity to run them. Similarly, any textiles in the weave of the fabric of the suitcase will have been done on powered machines, not hand looms, the studs on the bottom of the case and the zips made with molten metal or pressed metal – there’s more CO2! The factory will have been lit by electricity – there’s more CO2. Computer controlled processes, admin, accounting? More CO2 emissions. Workers getting to the factory? More CO2 emissions.
It is all CO2 use and emissions.
Get real! Get scientific!!
The world can never, ever, reach Carbon NetZero.
There’s a great sadness impending here. Through leaders up against a wall and overcrowded train stories, her need to hold media attention is waning. Back in Sweden she’ll vanish from a world presence and people will soon be saying “Greta who?” But the damage to her personality will have been done .
As I posted previously: “when the music fades”. The activist/media (one in the same) will move on to create their next media darling. Will her addiction to fame and fuss lead her to do ever more crazy things to maintain the notoriety to which she is accustomed? What will the parents who pushed this forward do? Will be interesting. “Greta who?”

Why do they persist in pulling such stunts? They must realise by now that exposure will very quickly follow. Or are they so blinkered by self-belief to consider themselves untouchable?
Exposure does not follow, that is why they persist. The myth that the media diligently examines the details and exposes falsity means that nonsense is accepted. I am a photographer and like Thinking Scientist, to me its immediately obvious that image is posed. It follows the theme of the lone protester on the street. Having watched these deceptions in all areas of the media become more and more blatant over the last 20 years I am not expecting exposure soon.
They have yet to learn that what worked in the past is no longer so successful. The media and the left have been accustomed to getting away with such stunts. However, they are beginning, after more than 3 years. to realize that efforts to destroy our President are failing in a grand and public manner. He is showing how to push back and they don’t know how to handle it. However, some are beginning to admit that their usual playbook is not working. It is also serving to educate the public to their perfidy.
Rush Limbaugh points out about others, and now Donald Trump, that when the media does not create you, they cannot destroy you either. They are trying to destroy Trump’s base, and are frustrated that we aren’t buying. But they did not create him. They DID create Greta, however.
Being a Human Shield isn’t as tough as it used to be.
Goodness! if she can lie about that, what else could she lie about?

At 16 (1973) I was off to the world of work, most 16yr olds these days seem to have no idea how lucky they are that the older generation worked & payed taxes for many years to enable them the freedom of life choices they have now.
