Eco-warrior Prince Harry will fly from Canada to the United Kingdom for the first time since renouncing his royal responsibilities to promote a project aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of frequent fliers.

The Duke of Sussex will head to Edinburgh on Wednesday to host a conference for Travalyst, an online scoring system that will rank flights, hotel accommodations and tourist attractions by how climate-friendly they are.

Travalyst was launched in September of last year, in partnership with leading travel brands including Booking.com, Visa, Tripadvisor, and Chinese owned sites Trip.com and Skyscanner.

“Our ambition is to transform travel and tourism so that every holiday people take, every trip they book, will have a positive impact and better protect the destinations and communities they visit,” a spokesperson for the organisation said per the Evening Standard.

Prince Harry has come under fire for his use of private planes to jet-set around the world to discuss the dangers of allegedly man-made climate change, flying on a private jet to a celeb-studded event hosted by Google in Sicily, in which elites warned that urgent action is needed to help the environment.

In launching Travalyst in September, the prince defended his families carbon footprint, arguing that “99 percent” of the time he travelled on commercial flights, but admitted: “We could all do better.”

“Occasionally, there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure that my family are safe, it’s genuinely as simple as that,” Harry said.

“As I said in my speech – it is about balance. If I have to do that – and it’s not a decision I would want to take – I would ensure, as I have done previously and I will continue to make sure I do, is balance. I have always offset my CO2,” he added.

“While no one is perfect, we all have a responsibility for our own individual impact. The question is what we do to balance it out,” the prince concluded.

The speech came just days after he and his wife Meghan Markle flew on four private jets in 11 days.

The trip to the UK will be the first visit since the couple were stripped of their royal titles — His/Her Royal Highness — after their announcement that they wished to scale down their royal duties and spend more time in North America.

The Royal family itself, headed by the Queen, made clear the arrangement could not work as Harry and Meghan would either be full time working Royals or not.

 What a 24-carat plonker!

Does he not realise what an idiot he is making of himself?

It’s a pain even before he starts. We get enough from idiot politicians without this lot interfering.

That ambition will neither lower carbon fuel emissions nor lower what CO2 has already been added. Another unnecessary policy idea on the drawing boards. If ‘Green Deals’ ever get seriously started there won’t anyone flying anywhere for very long.

Harry could be David Attenborough’s understudy.

It would tie many loose ends together. 🙂

You are so right. LOLROTF at this report. Harry is a self-righteous, smug idiot. The Queen has my sympathy. Harry is a piece of work.

At the end of the day, if you are daft enough or gullible enough to believe all the Glowbull Warming crap, then you should just stay in your hand knitted yurt and shiver. Nip out for some nuts and berries if the squirrels haven’t got there first.

Whenever I get the questionnaire from some airline or travel company with the obligatory request for my view on how “sustainable” their product is, I point out that “sustainable tourism” is an obvious oxymoron. But not to worry, because the entire Agenda 21 thing is nonsense on stilts.

I would strongly advise booking.com, skyscanner and all the rest, not to pester me with this trendy drivel.

CarOT-chewing Plonker gold star indeed – is he not taking or extracting the Meghaels ? Don;t those Naffs EVER THINK about how much land is occupied by 1000 trees? How much water they need etc – and from where will we get our food etc.

He has to be there in person rather than say a video conference because…?

Because he’s a puppet of the ‘Elites’ scrabbling to save their global warming/zero CO2 project from being totally trashed. As it already is, the next project is mass genocide courtesy of the Duke of Edinburghs wish to come back in an afterlife as a virus, that seems to be well under way, at least – we are led to believe it’s a virus. I have my doubts. Look what 60ghz does to oxygen in the blood. Promotes shortage of breath, leading to seizures and death. How? stops haemoglobin from absorbing oxygen. Wher does 60ghz come from? 5G.

What a wheeze. I’d like to be proven wrong.

Travalyst is just a sales gimmick by tourist companies to sell expensive holidays to the rich and gullible. How do you stand out from your competitors. What is your USP (Unique selling Point). How can you increase your profit. Put on a green rating it is worth paying a premium when you are saving the planet (yuck). Something to boast about at your next get together or as you are relaxing in some luxury resort.

I like the bit on there website about protecting wildlife. The Royals are known for killing wildlife at every opportunity. The famous picture of Prince Harry with rifle in hand next to a Water Buffalo he shot.
The Water Buffalo have a fine set of horns and there head mounted on a wall looks impressive. In the Philippines they are known as Carabao the rice farmers hook them up to ploughs. You see children riding them they lead them around by there nose with a piece of string. You would not need to hide in the long grass and risk your life or use a rifle with a telescopic lens to kill a water buffalo you could walk up to it stroke its head before shooting behind its ear.

For some reason the following came to mind. About the death of Frederick Prince of Wales, son of George 2 and father of George 3.

Here lies poor Fred who was alive and is dead,
Had it been his father I had much rather,
Had it been his sister nobody would have missed her,
Had it been his brother, still better than another,
Had it been the whole generation, so much better for the nation,
But since it is Fred who was alive and is dead,
There is no more to be said!

i actually feel sorry for Harry. He was obviously very affected by the death of his mother, who wouldn’t be at that age, and has had to come to terms with his subsequent exposure to all that publicity. However, this guy leads with his chin and sets himself up for a downfall on many occasions, this being one of them. Todays technology would make it very easy for him to address at many conferences as he likes with leaving home and would make a far bigger point in the process. He should re-evaluate the quality of his advisors.

Same applies to St Greta, of course, but that would not allow her to publicise “carbon-neutral” (ho ho) expensive yachts and Teslas.

couldn’t the UK invest in something like a blue carbon preservation project to cancel out their air travel emissions?

Coming Next: Prince Harry shoots someone with a gun to illustrate the dangers of shooting someone with a gun.

To get the metaphor right the gun would have to be loaded with blanks and Harry would need to believe they can kill – unless the target hides behind a tree.

      February 25, 2020 1:43 pm

jc: Would Harry go to jail? He would have ably demonstrated there are dangers of shooting someone with a gun that apply to both parties. However, there is no proof of CO2 emissions being dangerous nor of so called off-setting working and so the analogy fails. Now that Harry is greenhouse biased he should be reminded that people in such places should be advised not to throw stones let alone fire guns, whether loaded with bullets or blanks.

  18. February 25, 2020 12:40 pm

I have always offset my CO2
The jet still flew, Harry. Carbon offsets are a con.

Can we please stop talking about Harry as if he were Charles’s son. He patently isn’t. He is the product of his mother’s affair with an ex-guards officer by the name of Hewitt.
That doesn’t absolve Charles, who is responsible for the nurture side of things.

The question I have is this: The Royal Family has many investments….I wonder which ones will directly benefit from their idiot stance on climate change….what “green” companies do they own or have large positions in….I can’t believe these people are this stupid…greedy? yes, stupid, no.

  22. February 25, 2020 6:00 pm

Self-awareness is not a trait of the political elite, the rich, nor most politicians. So, no, Harry has no problem behaving like a horse’s behind since he’s 100% blind to his own behavior. Beside, Meghan told him to say this, so what choice does he have?
