Extinction Rebellion’s plot to ‘sabotage the economy’-David Rose

Good exposure from David Rose:

Extinction Rebellion wants activists to stage rent strikes, halt tax payments and take out bank loans they never intend to repay in protest at an economic system they claim is fuelling a climate catastrophe.

Internal documents obtained by The Mail on Sunday set out plans for a ‘Money Rebellion’ involving acts of financial sabotage to ‘directly challenge the fundamental principles that govern our national and global economies’.

Despite dire warnings that the coronavirus pandemic has plunged Britain into its worst recession for 300 years, the dossier details how the group – also known as XR – wants to launch a rent strike later this month.

It seeks to legitimise the protest by arguing that ‘our economic system is causing cancer in our planet’. It adds: ‘We will resist irresponsible lenders. Some of us will legally dispute debts, others will refuse to pay debts.’

Full story here.

Proof, if it was needed, that XR are only interested in one thing – destroying our economic system as we know it.

While the police are handicapped by the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 in stopping XR street protests, there are no constraints on the banks and inland revenue in prosecuting for non payment. Let us hope they go down this route, because in all reality it is futile, the amounts they are talking about are peanuts in the scale of bank lending.

Conspiracy to defraud is not looked on kindly and is far more likely to attract the ire of the authorities than blocking traffic.

There must be an incitement to break a law in there somewhere. Its getting serious now and these people are pushing and pushing. Its one thing for the police to accommodate their street protests its quite another to allow them to try and bring down the economy by illicit means. It’ll be interesting to see if they follow through with their plans now they’ve been rumbled as it can now be shown to be premeditated incitement. I wonder if David Rose will be brave enough to publish the information. Certainly the Police should be asking to see the document.

Confected outrage is usually the province of the eternal teenager or chronic student. Reminds me of when Norwich City Council adopted its own nuclear free zone. This must be something of the mental sickness that is increasingly in the news.

Extinction Rebellion should be made an illegal organisation, their members should be tried for Treason.

“Extinction Rebellion wants activists to stage rent strikes, halt tax payments and take out bank loans they never intend to repay.” Bank loans?? That’s what NY’s Governor Cuomo recommended, insisted on, for minority homeowners and banks when he was with HUD. It created the economic disaster called the Sub-prime loan crisis. Not a good idea by anyone, especially idiots to “save the planet”.

    Andrew Cuomo…

So FINALLY people, wake up to what a few people saw instantly as to the real motives of this group of maggots and weasels. They are revolutionary marxist anarchists plain and simple looking to bring down society so THEY can rule over you. 100 million murders in the 20th century should be 99,999,999 more than necessary to ban any backdoor (this is blatant) power grab by this mob. If they love marxism so much then can we please crowd fund them one way tickets to N Korea or MAYBE they would like to go and embrace the Chinese! Anarchists

I just checked out the Daily Mail comments section, there were 667 comments and I scan read about 100 of the top rated comments……not one supported the action.
most were really critical…XR public relations seems non existent. Maybe the man on the Clapham omnibus is seeing the real picture at last.

The leak was well targeted. If you had this document to expose you would hardly go to the Guardian or the BBC would you. Regardless of what you think of the DM or it’s readers their views quite often align with DT readers and some of the journalists.

Whilst I agree with your observation Paul, this is all just so much BS.

If XR members stage a ‘Tax Strike’ either:

    1. they are self employed, in which case the consequences could be dire for their business,

    2. Rent strikes will see them kicked out their property PDQ and,

    3. Assuming they have a credit score worthy of taking out a loan, too many applications (more than 4 or 5 over a year) will raise red flags in their credit ratings and they simply won’t get the loan.

This is simply not a credible threat to anyone, other than the very few idiots who think it’s a really good idea to wreck their financial future for at least the next 6 years.

  9. May 4, 2020 7:27 pm

I reckon this is probably a non-starter. Most of the XR lunatics and those who follow them probably do no work and therefore pay next to no tax, and / or live at home with the parents. So no income tax, council tax, or rent to withhold!

  10. May 4, 2020 7:46 pm

This plan is as moronic as the XR themselves.
Karma will come as a ton of bricks from Inland Revenue and landlords.
The economic impact on society will be less than a mosquito sting.
    Good luck

They remind me of the Hong Kong demonstrators. They too were committing economic suicide. In 2047 Hong Kong will be integrated into the People’s Republic and those highly educated 40 somethings will be unemployable. Possibly by trashing their own democratic institutions while waving British and US flags they hope to get British and American passports? Maybe a handful directly financed by MI6 and the CIA, but not the other 11 million.

Who’s paying XR is more mysterious. Some of them are on salaries paid by unknown donors. Could Gummer’s CCC have a black ops brigade trying to push the “sensible” green programme forward by subsidising Mad Moonbat and his “Superglue-me-to-a- fossil-fuel-vehicle” brigade – a sort of Oxford Street White Helmets?

XR come in two flavours. One lot are mostly students planning to end up in councils, charities and other left wing reserves. They’ve no money or property, and protest is something to brag about in interviews. The other lot were leftie students in their youth but have been lecturers, social workers and other hangers on. They’ve got money and property to lose. That’s why the police should be set up to fine and release and repeat.

Wreck the economy? the uk govt has already managed that with Their over the top lockdown which will close the economy completely for four months and put it on quarter speed for another six. XR really just need to sit back and watch it all happen

The “Plandemic” is doing the job for them! By the time the lockdown is over (if) there will be little of the economy left to sabotage.
If they really want to attack some capitalists they should target the people that fund them.

The spectacle of Gove, a British Govt minister, slobbering at the feet of a totally uneducated, mentally disadvantaged, child from Sweden is one of the most disgusting episodes in recent British political life. It is worse than those images of the humiliated Chamberlain arriving back from Munich waving his useless piece of paper.
This idiot Gove also regularly fronts the Cov-19 updates. How can people trust anything that comes from this Govt.
I am so ashamed to be British these days . Our “leaders” seem to have lost all sense of national pride and we do, as a nation, have things to be proud of.

Thing is, have these dim-witted Fascists/National Socialists/Communists worked out what is likely to happen after they have wrecked the world economy? The likely scenario of ‘everyman and everywoman and everyone in between living in a Medieval Golden Age of Eco/Enviro perfection’ is rather more likely to be ‘everyman & woman and no other genders out for themselves’ debauching the planet even more out of sheer necessity.

As Patrick Moore has already pointed out, every City centre tree would disappear within a few weeks. Diesel generators will add to the general smogs, initially in winter then also in summer before becoming all year round events, and the cancer rates from vegetation burned too early (while still green) will rocket rather than decline. Waste will pile up (Councils/Local Authorities usually cut essentials before fripperies) and the growth in the rat population may well encourage all sorts of plagues.

Always ask the ‘what if’ questions whether a Civil Servant or an XR member.

Tue 9am Radio 4 The Jim Al-Khalili show
Doesn’t have a green dreamer uni bubble world bod
but rather a power industry guy who has switched to head a university

“making sure that we all have access to the electricity we need,
    when we need it.
That includes when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow!
As we *rely* more and more on renewable energy
and more of us start driving electric cars, making sure the National Grid is fit for purpose is going to be a real challenge.
But Jim McDonald is on the case.”

I don’t doubt that among some of their number are some extremely violent thugs, swampies extreme lefties and animal rights loons are all beasts of a collective lair.

However, a rent strike and defrauding banks has an air redolent of, the ‘Tooting popular Front’ about it all. Plus, looking at ems in stewgreen’s reply – her uniform, and reminiscent a bit of that godawful remake of a very dumb film,’ghostbusters’ the wimin remake and or teenage sized iQ mutated turtles.
