Apparently though this does not extend to his newly found showbiz friends in California!

On another topic, yesterday, after many years, I finally switched off “The Archers”. It has been on increasingly thin ice for years but yesterday’s propaganda on man-made climate change was the last straw. The Beeb really is losing it.
It must be tough living in Hawaii and having to ‘zoom’ to California and back by jet rather than internet like the plebs do.
It is a pity Prince Harry and Meghan didn’t move to Texas and have a taste of the future….Their liberal woke friends have too much influence when it comes to important infrastructure issues. We need common sense decisions made by people like the guy in this interview.

Can you imagine the electricity bill they would face for the mansion they would expect to live in if they were in Texas – on a smart meter?
Those outsize power bills were for a tiny tiny number of home consumers on ‘wholesale spot pricing’ based power plans. The vast majority are like you and me on fixed price or vary by month ( in advance)
Their supplier told those people the previous week, a big cold snap is coming, change your plan now as spot prices will go through the roof.
A similar company where I live had the same type of pricing some years back, they too went out of business as the occasional spot price peaks will blow away any minor day to day savings.
Yes, as I understand a few people had opted for “wholesale price” related plans, and got burned.
I gather the power companies even advised them to switch before the freeze up, but understandably other companies were too busy to sign up new customers!
I’m one of those people who believe that global warming is a con, so in a way I’m pleased that celebrities do this sort of thing because it dilutes their credibility
If Harry no longer performs a royal role, what is the source of his income? Surely if he performs no public service he is no longer being paid from public taxation. Or am I being too naive? .

The contracts awarded were worth £879m ($1.2bn) per year, or £111m per gigawatt per year, it added which “represent a very significant sum for developers. In comparison, developing and constructing a 1GW offshore wind farm currently requires investment of around £2.5bn.”
Observers said that ultimately these higher seabed costs will be passed onto customers through higher electricity prices.
BP’s new chief executive Bernard Looney (sic!) has set out an ambitious plan for the group to grow renewable power generation to 50Gw by 2030 from 3.3Gw currently.
Under the awards yesterday, BP and EnBW will each pay around £1bn in fees for the project before an investment decision (FID).
RWE paid the lowest for its bid at £82,552 pounds per megawatt (Mw) per year, while BP and EnBW are paying £154,000 per Mw per year for the leases.”
£20-40/MWh just for the leases – more if they get substantially curtailed. I’m sure Prof Gordon Hughes will have noted this.
LOLROTF. Harry and Me-ghan again reveal themselves to be lowlives focused on being in the public eye and making a buck. In whining to Oprah, they’re preaching to the converted. I refrain from reading about/watching these idiots on news media in the hope that they will finally fade into private life, as they originally and falsely claimed was their aim. We should be so lucky!
They are making a buck, whats wrong with that. They never said they were going to ‘fade away’ at all. It was always going to join the top level celebrity circuit and make a living that way. They no longer get funded by the UK taxpayers and rely on inherited money from Diana and the Queen Mum and some of Princes Charles dosh.
Its not my thing listening to their ‘messages’ , but they arent aimed at my demographic. They correctly worked out that the US is far more open to this sort of hustle and money made reflects it.
I shan’t be wasting any energy watching them. Does that make me a greenie?

They might risk our switching to a titular presidency so as to fulfil the likely ambition of Tony Blair or the last House of Commons Speaker, for fire examples.

How have they damaged the monarchy? Considering the personal behavior of certain individuals over the years who were ‘working royals’ has had far greater impact. They clearly dont want to spent their time ‘on the job’ on mindless ceremony and only asking ” have you come far”. Its tabloid froth that says they are damaging anything. Any parent could tell you , the children can have minds of their own and working for the family firm can be stifling.
As for the clear hypocrisy about private jets and saving the planet, the better to show its absurdity but Im not holding my breath.
