Evidence of RWP In Florida

I recently came across this paper from 2012:

It suggests that both winters and summers were warmer than now in Florida at certain periods during the RWP.

But what is really interesting is their comment about a falling sea level at the Vandal Minimum transition.

HH Lamb strongly believed that sea levels fell during that period, the Dark Ages, following maybe a metre of rise during the RWP, a rate of rise similar to that of today. Following the fall, seas began to rise again during the MWP.

HH Lamb: Climate, History & The Modern World

Some modern studies, such as this one which I debunked last month, claim that these variations did not exist and simply assume that the rate of rise prior to the 20thC was unchanged. These are usually based on extremely limited data. The evidence from glaciers alone of colder epochs, such as the Dark Ages and Little Ice Age show such conclusions are worthless.

The work of experts such as Sylvia Hallam has been ignored in favour of computer models and global warming theory. It is good to see another study that prefers real hard data.

The biggest thing this shows is that there are lots of studies that the Alarmists are trying to ignore hide bury so there funding and status as hero’s who will save the planet remain.
The story will be told many years into the future how these Charlatans pulled the wool over our narcissistic Politian’s and completely stunted our growth as a planet.

Other recent papers that support HH Lamb and Ting Wang —
Tracing winter temperatures over the last two millennia using a NE Atlantic coastal record — Polovodova Asteman et al., 2018, (Free PDF download at https://www.clim-past-discuss.net/cp-2017-160/cp-2017-160.pdf )
A 2500 years of reconstructed winter temperatures by using a fjord sediment archive from the NE Atlantic. The study is based on ca. 8-m long sediment core from Gullmar Fjord (Sweden), dated by Pb210 and AMS C14 and analysed for stable oxygen isotopes (d 18 O) measured on shallow infaunal benthic foraminiferal species Cassidulina laevigata.

The record demonstrates a warming during the Roman Warm Period (~350 BCE – 450 CE), variable bottom water temperatures during the Dark Ages (~450 – 850 CE), positive bottom water temperature anomalies during the Viking Age/Medieval Climate Anomaly (~850 – 1350 CE) and a long-term cooling with distinct multidecadal variability during the Little Ice Age (~1350 – 1850 CE). The fjord BWT [bottom water temperatures] record also picks up the contemporary warming of the 20th century, which does not stand out in the 2500-year perspective and is of the same magnitude as the Roman Warm Period and the Medieval Climate Anomaly.

Global warming in the context of 2000 years of Australian alpine temperature and snow cover – McGowan et al., 2018 (full paper on open access at https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-22766-z)
    Where they say —

Our reconstructed Tmax [temperature maximum] for these warmer conditions peaks around 1390 CE at + 0.8 °C above the 1961–90 mean, similar to the peak Tmax during the RWP [Roman Warm Period]. These results are aligned with the findings that show the period from 1150 to 1350 CE to be the warmest pre-industrial chronzone of the past 1000 yrs for southeast Australia.

There are many many others. A search through notrickszone archive of papers reveal many of them (e.g_https://notrickszone.com/page/2/?s=Roman+Warm+Period)

Sorry to be OT but I have been watching the 100 ball cricket on Sky and it is being punctuated by a massively irritating advert about the alleged climate crisis. Basically a bunch of ill informed preachy kids talking garbage. It appears to be about multinational companies virtue signalling. Sustainable farming is a thing now apparently. Since farming has been happening for twelve thousand years I think that it might have been a thing for a while now.

Not a very effective advert if you can’t name the corp

I think you mean the Amazon advert
“what’s it gonna take for you to do something!!”

The cheek of Amazon having a climate change advert when Jeff Bezos just went to spaceRolling on the floor laughing billionaires have some effing nerve

Well spotted Paul – H.H. Lamb was right on the money. I have walked with the local Archeological Society the remains of the esturian evidence that was just outside Lincoln in Roman times. The generally accepted explanation was that the retreat of the coastline was due to land rising after the retreat of the ice sheet but that would be a continuous process with a steady exponential decline; in this case the historical evidence for a more rapid change is clear, both in Lincoln and further south near Bourne. The trashing of historical evidence by ‘climate modellers’ that seem to be completely oblivious to the limitations of the mathematics they use is a modern scandal!

Ha ha, computer games oops models. So reliable. They told us that half a million Brits would die of CFhinese Flu by middle of last summer. How can we not believe and worship the computer gamers of the Giovt, Sage, universities and climate delusion theory. Computer games are the post-modern reality – put your headset on and dont look out the window.
‘Is it true or was it generated by a computer!’

The very reason they use models is because by controlling input they control output. That game can also be played with empirical data produced using biased methodologies but only up to a point (Gregor Mendel)

I believe that one of the many criticisms of the infamous hockey stick graph was that it was flat until modern times and failed to show the medieval and Roman warm periods. This of course was completely at odds with overwhelming and well documented historical evidence for periods of warmer weather occurring naturally roughly a thousand years apart. Of course, a graph that had actually included these natural fluctuations would have shown that the current warm spell was completely normal.

All those previous warm periods where things could be done that can’t today are a big thorn in the warmists case that what we see today is unusual, hence leading climate crook and his mates trying to make them disappear. Their claim to for example the MWP being limited to the northern hemisphere has been debunked too by numerous papers referencing evidence in the southern hemisphere.

Yes, Stonyground, this is definitely not allowed. Perhaps Michael Mann can sue the authors of the paper for reinstating the RWP which he broomed from history to flatten his hockey stick. Now all we need is for someone to do a reinstatement of the Little Ice Age and Michael will lose what mind he has left.

Facts are such pesky things. They just keep popping up……

E10 petrol wont help. Engineers are reporting damage to Fiat Spider 124’s. How many other users will E10 end-up kicking those Eco conscious motorist in the teeth, rendering then unconscious!
