Cold kills ten times as many people worldwide as heat does.
What is that old journalistic saying, Don’t let facts get in the way of a good story?
‘Warming annually causes about 120,000 heat deaths but prevents nearly 300,000 cold deaths’
So? We can’t control the weather.
Article is good till the end. He concedes too much to the climate liars.
Agree. Great article up to the point where it implies we can ‘do something’ about the weather. Does he actually believe that? I don’t think so, perhaps a sop.
It’s just something you include in skeptical articles to reduce the number of death threats you get after publication.
Lomborgs latest book is well worth reading as it is full of facts and figures and common sense solutions to mitigate the extraordinary costs the warmists want to load on to us. He is a warmist himself but a highly pragmatic one.
“Climate change is a real problem we should fix..”
Fix??? Imagine the additional number of deaths that would be caused by the “urgent” elimination of carbon fuels in transportation to reach some impossible zero emission goal. Renewables don’t transport things, and biofuels are 90% fossil fuel.
Except we cant ‘fix’ the climate. Its pure arrogance to think humans are more powerful than the sun. The climate changes and will continue to change due to cosmic forces. Humans cant do a damn thing to influence it. So stop worrying and start living. Oh, thats what they’re afraid of!
How many heat deaths could be avoided if the victims had access to air con, or even electric fans? Many places in the world still have irregular, or even no, electricity.
The funny thing is the only “heat deaths” in the UK are people drowning trying to keep cool or just messing about in or on the water.
It’s cold down under
Just watching the BBC (hah!!) news about the awful fires in Greece. I just wondered, if I wanted to send a msg to the COP26 (and the BBC) about CC what better way than to start a fire?…..just sayin’.
