Wind, Rain, Snow, Sun–A Typical British November!

In total contrast to November 1951, the month was cold, sunny and dry in 1961. Despite the month being colder than average, there were some pleasant spells, with temperatures reaching 17.7C at Exeter (Top temperature last month was 17.6C).
But the main theme was the frequency of snowfalls throughout the month:
November 1971 was a very similar month. Temperatures hit 19.7C at Hawarden Bridge. Although most of the country saw below average rainfall, heavy rainfall and floods affected parts of Scotland in the first week. Much of England & Wales also saw heavy rain in the last week of the month.
Snow was also widespread, though not particularly heavy, in mid month:

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT 
Rains always heavy at this time of year in Scotland? Always has been and I don’t see the signs of change anywhere near yet?
Well I laughed out loud when GB News had an incredulous reporter in Aviemore yesterday evening showing how the snow was coming down due to Storm Barra – I said to my wife, “its a pity they don’t have a ski centre near there!!!”
Ditto here in the north of Scotland.
Everything as normal – no change.

Sadly most adults fear and detest snow, but as a child in 1961/62 the only thing I remember today was sledging down hills, snowball fights, and frozen milk in bottles.
It was actually Winter 62/63 I think recon. Started to snow between Christmas and New Year and didn’t go until late March I seem to remember.
In the February I and three of my work colleagues were renting a static caravan in the Home counties. Even with a substantial coke burner we were freezing and decided to find “digs” indoors after a month. As we left we could not empty the Elsan as it was frozen solid, and had to apologise to the owner..
It really is surprising that weather is occurring everywhere nowadays
