According to Michael Mann, this week’s tornadoes are unprecedented and climate change kills more people than COVID!
Clearly they are unprecedented if you don’t count the other 344 winter EF-3s and greater which have hit the US since 1950!
Why on earth does this incompetent so-called scientist keep getting air time?

The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) was established in 1988 by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and later, it was endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly. Membership is open to all members of the WMO and the UN. The IPCC First Assessment Report (FAR) was completed in 1990, and served as the basis of the UNFCCC, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Michael Mann, was lead author of a paper that was produced in 1998 with co-authors Raymond Bradley and Malcolm Hughes. The team used advanced statistical techniques in finding regional variations in a Hemispherical Climate Reconstruction, examining the most recent 600 years. In 1999 the same team used these techniques to produce a reconstruction of the most recent 1,000 years, using the MBH99 Proxy Calibration Technique. The resultant Graph was dubbed the “Hockey Stick Graph” because of its shape. Michael Mann was one of eight lead authors of the “Observed Climate Variability and Change” chapter of the IPCC, Third Scientific Assessment Report published in 2001. That ‘Hockey Stick Graph’ based on the MBH99 paper was highlighted in several parts of the report . . . and was given wide publicity.
This Document became ‘The Holy Grail’ to Environmentalists.
The MBH 99 Proxy Calibration has been ‘Proven False’ . . . In 10 of 14 tests and the other 4 are questionable. Nothing this ‘Mann’ says can be trusted. He Even lost his defamation case against Timothy Ball. The Judge ruled that Michael Mann was in contempt of court for refusing to present the ‘Foundational Data’ supporting his ‘Hockey Stick Graph’. Expenses were awarded by the court to the defendant . . . Timothy Ball.
Environmentalist Propaganda is all about financing ‘The Next Big Lie’ . . .
Unfortunately, afaik, Tim Ball has yet to collect his cost/expenses as Mann has managed to get the court to delay their ruling on them.

His life’s work has been to STOP global warming?? A stunning admission! If true, it seems like he had already drawn a conclusion early on and then spent his life (research time, effort and taxpayer $$$$) trying to “prove” it. Raw data were destroyed…. somewhere?
His life’s work should have been to find the truth, not promulgate false information.

To be fair, as is common, many co-investigators were also funded with much of this money. All the money came from taxpayers. Penn State cleared him? With their administrative overhead at risk? A tidy sum just for “processing and handling”. Of course he was cleared. Follow the money!
Thanks to you and jimlemaistre for reminding us of the facts re: Michael Mann. In Norwich the climate change school at UEA still feels hard done by. Glad also that isaveenergy below has the right stats for deaths. BBC now getting a bad press on several fronts and seems unlikely to recover with Tax Payers Alliance on the case….perhaps.

The official death toll is supposedly only accurate for developed countries.
From now on doctors will decide if someone died from climate change. In a few years there won’t be a need for a death certificate because all deaths will be caused by climate change because CC obviously causes cancer, heart attacks, car accidents, covid, all other diseases, hypothermia, malnourishment, general obesity, wars, unemployment, old age and all these end in death eventually. Fossil fuel executives cause death. It has nothing to do with any of the people at Penn State that still burn fossil fuels in their cars. Or farmers who still haven’t converted to solar powered tractors. Or climate change angels like film stars, princes and leading climate scientists who fly in fossil fueled planes to distant COP conferences to tell us that burning fossil fuels is deadly (for us, not them).
