John Kerry rebuked over intervention in Tory leadership election
Press Release
London, 25 July – John Kerry, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, has been rebuked for interfering in the Conservative leadership election.
Asked by the BBC to comment on Liz Truss’s pledge to put a moratorium on the green levies on energy bills, Kerry warned the candidates not to touch the Net Zero plan.
While he claimed he did not want to interfere in the choice of the UK’s next prime minister, he said he would “pointedly and adamantly” advise against any move to water down the commitments to CO2 reductions that were confirmed at last year’s COP26 summit in Glasgow.
Benny Peiser, the director of Net Zero Watch, said:
"John Kerry’s intervention in the Conservative Party’s leadership election exposes the utter hypocrisy of the Biden administration. Only a year ago President Biden criticised Russia for interfering in the US election and claimed Washington would never do such a thing.
"While the US administration is flying around the world, begging other nations for more oil and gas, the last thing we need is for the Biden administration to tell the next PM not to prioritise reducing the appalling cost of Net Zero plans.
"Mr Kerry seems to have forgotten what happened during the EU referendum campaign, when former US president Barack Obama warned that the US would place the UK at the ‘back of the queue’ for a trade deal if it dared to leave the EU. Trying to bully the British public failed then, and it will almost certainly do so again. "

‘Special Presidential Envoy for Climate’, needs a Glaswegian kiss!
My thoughts exactly!
He is known as a bit of fool in his own country. There is no need for him to be seen as a fool here.
This towering statesman is presumably a different John Kerry to the one who described carbon dioxide as a ” quarter – inch thin layer of gas at the edge of the atmosphere ” ? And obviously not the same John Kerry whose overriding concern earlier this year was that Putin’s invasion of Ukraine might lead to the Russian leader taking his eye off the climate-change ball ? No , those two John Kerrys were obviously half-wits , this one must be another John Kerry altogether , an intellectual and political giant .
Brits’ contempt for meddling foreign politicians was highlighted just prior to Brexit:
Re: “trust” survey, why do people trust anybody other than close family? And maybe not even close family.
Th’ ‘ole wuld’s mad ‘cept thee and me – and I’m nay sure ’bout thee!
Lurch strikes again.
I know this is a gross ad hominem, but as well as being as thick at two short planks, he defines “ugly”.
Hey, everyone has a right to be ugly but John Kerry abuses the privilege. Yes another ad hominem byt what the hell he is an a@@hole.
Howard
Stand by your truth.
So Kerry likes Sunak? How much did Truss have to pay him to say this?
I think we (USA) should trade you Kerry for Gemma Atkinson or similar.
You could — assuming you don’t want him — send him to France for a hogshead of good wine.
In a butt of Malmsey might be better.
If you sent him for a hogshead of wine he would probably come back with a bar of soap and sbox of matches and thevwrong change
Surely it is the BBC that deserves the most criticism here?
Quite.
The BBC allowed him to make this political statement.
Just another prat feathering his own nest at the expense of the rest of us poor plebs
John Kerry the Climate Czar who flies around on his wife’s private plane to pick up awards in Iceland, to attend Obamas Martha’s Vinyard bash ( noting that Kerry also has two large house one on Martha’s Vinyard and one in Boston) plus a large yacht – not because Kerry is such a big earner, he earned his money the old fashioned way – he married a hugely rich heiress.
Kerry’s money —
He had money. Middle name Forbes. See: the Forbes family (Wiki).
Teresa Heinz (born Maria Teresa Thierstein Simões-Ferreira) appears to NOT be from a poor family.
She seems to spend time “doing good” while he seems to be clueless and/or evil.
Is that 57 varieties of rich?

We can rest assured that ‘Net Zero’ climate dogma will never lay a glove on this globetrotting finger wagger.
