You’ve probably all read about luvvie Emma Thompson’s encounter with a muck spreader, while illegally protesting a farmer’s field against fracking.

Fracturing (as in exploding) began in 1865 while “hydraulic” fracturing began in 1949; with experiments 2 years earlier.

    Emma was born in 1959.

If fracking was dangerous to humans, Ms. Emma would likely have been born with a low IQ or some other perceptible defect.

Another ignorant and poorly educated English Lit./Arts snob telling the world about Science. It beggars the mind, that Science is already filled with stupid idiots, but to have now English Literature later-come 2nd rate actresses telling the world about scientific matters just goes to show you how poorly conceived people’s notations are of how and where is the proper place to have scientific argumentation and by whom.

During the 19th century the rise of scientific journals were the domain where scientific argumentation was justly contained. All matter of crack pot theories and highly debatable plausible theories where illustrated and vigorously debated, take for example the theories of the electron that were prevalent during the late 19th century. But these discussions were kept in scientific journals, that is what the function of scientific journals where to do!

And now, today, we get people the likes of Emma “Bozo” Thompson and Prince “Knuckle-head” Charles, roaming around the fields of the English country-side spewing more intellectual manure out from their mouths than any farmer with a field of the real-stuff. How do people with educations in reading Shakespeare get to even to put two scientific words together, that they wouldn’t even understand what they mean, and get the whole world to kowtow after them? Simple. Because now every body who has a half-lame ass idea about anything can publish it without any justifiable solid bit of evidence, and it doesn’t need to be put in a journal.

So we now have the situation that where the REAL argumentation for science is being held hostage behind very expensive pay-walled unscrupulous journals, while the VOODOO Science can be practice for free. The result? That the media and population at large hear only and see the Voodoo English Literature wack-jobs preaching their stupid theories, while the Real Science is more and more being subverted by being buried under mountains of crap science that is no longer being debated where it should be, and kept more and more further out of reach of the public by crooks like Elsevier, behind pay-walls.

Oh, I almost forgot. To the fracking farmer:

Keep up the good work, we need you. Ignore Bozzo Thompson, and the likes of Knuck-Head Chuck.

      More Fracking, Less Shakespeare.

so you believe fracking to be entirely safe?

Not if you’re a crackpot carrying on about something on which you are completely ignorant and there is a farmer with liquid muck nearby.

    Emma’s clearly full of it,
Just thought she’d stepped in it,
Now praying to her forgotten God,
    When facing the spraying squad.

Emma Thompson IS a good actress. Wit for instance is profoundly moving, Nanny McPhee was excellent – I believe she adapted it – although the second one was poorer. She also wrote the screenplay for Sense and Sensibility, as well as acting in it. It is because of her success and talent in such fields that she gets listened to. I think it is important to recognise this. Sadly we live in an age when TV and film personalities are treated with exaggerated respect – even if they only read the news. Emma Thompson spouts the most absurd nonsense on several issues but we do need to distinguish the different roles.

Agree that she is a fine actress, wonder whether her outbursts would get any publicity if she was criticising the orthodoxy and said that global warming was obviously expensive rubbish!

Certainly not on the Big Brother Corp.
