Climate Hypocrite of the Year Awards

December 11, 2019

The GWPF have just launched their new Climate Hypocrites of the Year awards:

There’s no hypocrite quite like a green hypocrite is there? Whenever you get some eco-zealot is lecturing you about impending climate doom and the need for “us” to go vegan, you can be pretty sure that you are dealing with someone whose carbon emissions would put some developing nations to shame and whose diet would make a vegetarian shudder.
Over the last year, the ability of our climate-aware friends to hop from the ski-slopes to the protest march, from the business-class lounge to the barricades, has been an endless source of entertainment. Remember Zoe Jones from Extinction Rebellion? She
returned from holidays in Uganda, New Zealand and the Alps to blockade a major thoroughfare in Bristol, infamously preventing people from getting to hospital. “We’re doing the right thing” she opined.
One of our favourites was another Extinction Rebellion supporter,
Professor Jem Bendell of the University of Cumbria, who enjoys regular trips to Bali, and is also a visiting professor at institutions in Australia, Spain, Kenya and Switzerland.
Indeed, the hypocrisy of the environmental movement is now so all-encompassing that it is starting to move from the domain of amusing anecdote to that of serious
scientific consensus.
Here at the Global Warming Policy Forum, we don’t like to let this achievement on this scale go unrecognised, and with that in mind we are launching an annual award to find the person who has most brazenly failed to practise what they preach, the person whose brass neck truly makes them stand out from the green crowd.
Our paper launching the awards can be read
here, and in it you’ll find details of how you can nominate your favourite eco-hypocrite and some of the possible frontrunners.
But hurry, nominations close on 13 December!

Brazil’s President Calls Greta Thunberg a ‘Brat’
Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro on Tuesday called young Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg a “brat” after she expressed concern about the slayings of indigenous Brazilians in the Amazon.
But she is TIME’s Person of the Year 2019

So Greta has been granted the same honour as Hitler. It was only a matter of time.

She’s right about the indigenous tribes, the murders are disgraceful.

But then Bols. was right about NGOs starting fires, well the massive money offered by WWF for fire propaganda photos certainly seems to have encourage some people to get creative.

“But then Bols. was right about NGOs starting fires”

        Any developments since this?
“Federal prosecutors challenged the validity of the investigation, saying they looked into the allegations in September and found nothing to suggest any causal link between the fires and the volunteer brigade. In a public statement, they said the evidence pointed instead to land grabbers and property speculators, who use fire to clear forest and drive up its commercial value.

The case was further weakened when the suspects provided alibis that showed they were far from the fires when they started – in one case, on a plane. As doubt grew, the governor of Pará replaced the chief investigator and a judge ruled the men should be released until their court hearing.”

GT is a classic example of why 16 year-olds should not be allowed to vote.

And when the music fades…… Fame is a fickle thing, especially when it is not earned but bestowed by a press with an agenda. Greta will someday realize that she was used and thrown away when no longer viable. What then?

Perhaps some of the hypocrites have the “excuse” of fuddled brains from habitual exposure to sycophants and/or mind altering “stimulants” on a chronic basis.
Others may be stupid, despite or because of celeb. status..

Greta will have spent at least 13.5 tonnes CO2 equivalent on her trip. About 10 tonnes embodied in the malizia, 2 tones to drive 10k miles in the USA and another 2 tonnes burning diesel off the coast of Portugal.

Giving dame Emma a run for her money.

One thing I will say is many celebrities, while being hypocrites, at least offset. The thunbergs have not made clear on any offsetting. The closest was the flights for the malizia crew back to Europe. But that was the crews responsibility and no details were given. Yet, on normal carbon calculators, emissions related to the crew are the travellers responsibility.

That is where the real hypocrisy is. People can be wrong. But the thunbergs are creating a message where they are experienced climate activists and climate experts. They should know about use and embodied emissions. But they ignore them.

Don’t waste your vote on Greta. She’s in with a chance of winning pointman’s Climate Prat of the Year although currently running second to an (deservedly) obscure American politician.
Help Greta win her deserved award; go to https://thepointman.wordpress.com and vote for her in the panel on the RHS.
Personal disclosure – I voted for no-hoper Sir David who is “back in the field” alongside The Objectional Berc.

    Hypocrites?
How about the Greens and alarmists banging on about the need to stop the destruction of the rain-forest so that Mother -Earth can breathe. But then, to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels they advocate the destruction of those self-same forests so that ‘entrepreneurs’ (Gore?) can benefit from growing Palm-oil?.
And then blame the destruction f rain-forests on CC!!

How much energy is wasted, CO2 expended, bloviating – hot air respired during this gathering of the corpulence of green/politico circus?

I dont think its fair to call Greta a hypocrite – shes just deeply stupid and deeply indoctrinated. It’s the middle class wan***s at XR who are hypocrites, lecturing everyone else whilst enjoying all the benefits of the modern world.

But surely the winner is Meghan/Harry?

You plebs must not go on stag weekends abroad they tell us, before jetting off to a tennis match and a pointless conference

Mentally strange, with an autistic facies.
More deluded victim of parents and media.
Life probably ruined, all for filthy lucre: an unacceptable price for her to pay for the total nonsense she spouts, to a script written by malign publicists.

Emma Thompson has already pleaded guilty.

Prince Harry should make the short list at least.

I would like to nominate all the members of the “Green” movement in my little West Midlands Market Town.
All well off middle class, living in large houses, driving large cars, flying off to exotic foreign locations several times a year and, a few of them running businesses that only the wealthier middle classes can afford to patronise – typical.

There are three categories but even so there are so many out there to choose from. Perhaps they could get Exxon Mobil to provide some trophies for the winners. Sadly, BP and Shell are becoming too woke and scared to admit they are oil companies first and foremost.

Rebel News has named Greta:’ Hypocrite of the Year’ for the embarrassing footage of Greta’s Tesla, which she drove across North America. Littered with garbage and single use plastics.

I know that an individual and not a group group can only be nominated . If that were not the case I would suggest the teachers who took their pupils away from school on Fridays look pretty silly. A mass bunk off organised by academics amounts to totally meaningless support for the so-called climate emergency. I hope that the Dept of Education in their respective countries has reprimanded the teachers who took part. Some chance, unless you know better.

But but but Professor Bendell is involved in Saving the Planet and needs to spew those CO2 gases into the atmosphere through his activity. When he saves us then he will stop and will instead start meditating in Bali.
