It’s The Pigs Fault!

I’ve got an idea.

Why don’t they just wipe out every animal on earth?

I think you are on to something Paul. Just thinking but don’t humans release CO2 and methane as well? Just saying.

Yes, it’s a serious point. The conversion of vegetation to human flesh releases CO2 and CH4 whether done directly (by human vegetarians) or via animals (by human carnivores).

Only 1.1 million cars? Shucks, that’s nothing. I remember back in 1982, before global warming mania became a religious cult, that the New York Times lamented that termites were producing twice as much greenhouse gas emissions as the entirety of the the world’s smoke stacks. And we had some seriously smoky smoke stacks back then. I dare say that termites probably haven’t changed their ways too much since and they would regard 1.1 million cars worth of co2 emissions as a light breakfast, not anywhere near an annual total. Creepy crawlies knock little piggies emissions out of the park all day long.

Termites are no longer a problem, they’ve become ‘carbon neutral’ since this —
For 4,000 Years, Termites Have Been Building Something Incredible in Brazil

Their huge mounds cover an area the size of Britain, and are visible from space.

Murundus, or giant termite mounds, in Brazil
      Murundus in Brazil (Roy Funch)
      November 19, 2018

In the east of Brazil, mysterious cones of earth rise from the dry, hard-baked soil. Each of these mounds is about 30 feet wide at its base, and stands six to 13 feet tall. From the ground, with about 60 feet of overgrown land separating each mound from its neighbors, it’s hard to tell how many there are. But their true extent becomes dramatically clear from space.

What pigs do is, like the weather, the carbon dioxide and the Earth’s climate natural.
Although man (and woman) is complicating natural events and cycles, nature shrugs it off, I believe, but climate mischief makers are causing doubts, by using computer generated myths subject to GIGO and so unreal but the mischief makers use their findings to make political points, usually with fame and money making as objectives.
Their claims are speculative but are presented as ultimately relevant truths and threats.
The motto of the Royal Society, nullius in verba (take no one’s word for it) is cast aside and the unproven, politicaĺly based assertions, e.g., by the BBC and Greta Thunberg, given unearned credit and most of the public deceived.

The issue is whether carbon cycle flows are part of the AGW equation. The way climate science constructs carbon budgets, there is no role for the carbon cycle but the way these carbon budgets are interpreted is a wild and crazy game.

Pigs eat, belch, fart, grunt and move the soil around, using what nature has provided including the CO2 that is locked in the soils and the microbes there. Therefore the pigs like cattle are ‘carbon neutral’. Pigs, cattle etc., are not ‘fossil fueled’, so do not generate any ‘new’, or liberate ancient CO2 from their activities, they’re just a little cog in the big carbon cycle.
The more CO2 from warm oceans and the tiny amounts humans generate from burning fuels, the better the plants grow. As a consequence the veggy eating insects and animal have a bigger feast and flourish. Soon the carnivores will benefit from the abundance of veggy eaters.

Nice day for a wild pig barbecue!

    Pigs might fly –
but then again they might not.
    Not from Bristol airport anyway.

Bristol Airport inquiry into expansion refusal begins.
So does the inacurate dross coming out of this already. Its shocking. People are genuinely clueless. And anyway, bit of travel to see how the other half live (and regard their pigs) is always a good thing.

One million cars is 0.1% of the world’s total and cars account for maybe 10% of the world’s greenhouse gases so feral pigs account for 0.01% of greenhouse gases. Or to put another way the pigs need to fart for 10,000 years to have the same effect as one year human produced emissions. Note that everything the Graun says here is factual, and they really pride themselves on commitment to the facts, Science! But it’s also completely irrelevant.

Biofuels are 90% fossil fuel and are “burned” immediately to return the “captured” CO2 to the atmosphere. And the ethanol sources have to be regrown to make it “neutral”. Vegetation grown where agricultural food was grown. An expensive Ponzi scheme foisted off on us to “save the planet”?

A press release today says that Shell and SSE want to build a fleet of floating wind-generators off-shore Scotland to make Scotland the centre for this technology: who is kidding who?

No doubt if the subsidies are right and no nasty guarantees of power are needed and they can avoid paying Crown Estates by floating, they will go ahead. Sadly, this type of nonsense ticks all the eco-warriers’ boxes: I suspect that they know who runs No 10 now.

Wild boars were introduced into New Zealand and persist in digging up grass. They are doubly unwelcome by being an invasive species. When they are gone NZ will be moving toward being Carbon Neutral. journalists tell us, The Climate will stop changing when Carbon is eliminated. Any New Zealand Politician will tell you this and when questioned about what Carbon is they become indignant and shut down debate immediately. It must not be questioned that releasing Carbon changes the weather . It is what people just know to be true..
