The BBC’s fake news about fracking

Spiked exposes the lies told by Roger Harrabin:

The seasons are changing, and for many of us that means it’s time for a spring clean. My back patio has been gathering months’ worth of soil and winter debris, so I now need to blow it up. I will use the same method to clean the grime off my car. After ensuring the area is clear, and any nearby houses or pedestrians are safe, I will subject the car to lots of explosions. In each case, I shall be using a power washer, of the kind that Halfords sells for around 50 quid.

At this point, I expect the pedants among you to start quibbling. The hydraulic pressure from my power washer is not an ‘explosion’, you might point out. Water pressure does not cause ‘a sudden and rapid expansion’, which is how many dictionaries define ‘explosion’. But according to the BBC’s most senior green journalist, environment editor Roger Harrabin, there is no difference between hydraulic pressure and explosions – and Roger’s word is good enough for me.

Harrabin began to deploy the word ‘explosions’ in his reports in 2011, when the UK’s coalition government and the public began to warm to a new and emerging energy resource: shale gas.

Paul, as always a Great report !

Truth . . . in the world of Propagandists . . . Almost seems meaningless. Headlines rule our world. Corrections are buried at the bottom of page 4.

The Truth must Prevail, and you Paul, among us, MUST continue to pursue these falsehoods to our last breath.

When that One Stone gets overturned proving Collusion and Willful Deception. The un-scientific foundations that have been supporting the Environmental Movement since its inception will render it . . . Null.

“Legend has it that one day truth and falsehood intersected.

      “Hello,” said the Lie.
      “Hello,” said the Truth.
“Beautiful day,” continued the Lie. Then the Truth went to see if it was true. It was.

      “Beautiful day,” replied the truth.
“The lake is even more beautiful,” the lie said with a pretty smile.
Then the Truth looked towards the lake and saw that the lie was telling the truth and nodded.

The Lie ran towards the water and launched …
      – The water is even more beautiful and warm. Let’s go swimming!
The truth touched the water with her fingers and she was really beautiful and lukewarm.

Then the Truth trusted the lie. The two took off their clothes and swam quietly.

A little later, the lie came out, he dressed in the clothes of truth and left.

The truth, unable to wear the clothes of lies, began to walk without clothes and everyone walked away seeing her naked.

Saddened, abandoned, the Truth took refuge at the bottom of a well. Thus, since then, people would rather accept the Lie disguised as truth than the naked Truth. »

And of course Harrabin was behind 28gate. He represents all that is wrong with the BBC. He personally is responsible for untold poverty and misery. He is so ignorant that he believed that converting Drax to burn imported wood chips was a great idea.

Harrabin and his ilk are just not programmed to support the needs of the UK, programmed as they are by the ‘Bought By China’ creed (IMHO – his religion is now: if not by deed, by creed).

“But the BBC saw things differently.”
    That is a common complaint.

“But the government lacks the moral courage to debunk the lie …”
    An even more common complaint.

“Department for Energy and Climate Change made clear in a research note in 2013. ‘Having reviewed the risks, the Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering concluded that the health, safety and environmental risks [of fracking] can be managed effectively in the UK, by implementing and enforcing best operational practice’, a research briefing in the House of Commons Library confirmed in 2014.”

But would they go on TV and tell the country?

Would the BBC, as it’s charter commands, allow this information to be broadcast?

Would the BBC inform the public of this important information?

This is the reason why the country has been in a state of limbo for years.

They should be much more afraid about the Octopus campaign to build a windmill in every housing estate.

Communities are asking us for their own supply of green energy

When we give local communities control and incentives, they want their own energy supply. We already have over 1,000 communities across Britain interested in cheaper, greener electricity. Our current Fan Club communities receive up to 50% off their bills – from their local wind farm.

Why does this matter to us?

We supply millions of homes and businesses with energy, and from our very beginnings we’ve been determined to drive down the cost. We’ve already seen this work on a small scale with our Fan Club but if we want to benefit a significant number of people, we need help to overcome the obstacles that slow down green innovation.
Every British wind turbine means less imported gas and lower bills for our customers.
      So, let’s build more wind.
      ….
The pandemic has taught us that when it matters, the world can move fast. It takes 15 years to bring a typical vaccine to market. The Covid-19 vaccine was ready in a year. We can do the same with wind farms, if we remove the red tape we could build wind farms in a year.

So they want to bypass planning etc. and ignore the costs that more wind will impose on us all. Of course, if we got rid of the red tape we could have fracked gas in 9 months, and probably new CCGT in 2-3 years, new nuclear in about 6. Not sure how much turbine manufacturing capacity is available though.

For those who are anti fracking in their backyards they have two alternatives.
Erect windmills or solar panels instead, as they seem to believe that they are the future of green energy.
Only recently Green MP Caroline Lucy’s was on Woman’s Hour proposing that these were the answer to our energy problems. As she is MP for Brighton, I would like to know her constituents views on a range of windmills and solar panels on the South Downs on the edge of Brighton, which would be an obvious place to site them.

It’s extraordinary isn’t it? Park one bus with a factual but somewhat misleading statement on it and that’s a dreadful lie that caused mass hysteria and a fradulent vote. But spread vast amounts of disinformation and lies, for years, make films with faked scenes, take Russian money, bully and intimidate local people, scare them with utter falsehoods – the BBC thinks that all marvelous.

Woozled is the word for it all.

“The Woozle effect, also known as evidence by citation, or a woozle, occurs when frequent citation of publications lacking evidence misleads individuals, groups, and the public, and non-facts become urban myths and factoids.”

See Milne, A.A., 1926, Winnie the Pooh, publ. Methuen.

The UK can follow the US lead and tap its own land-based gas resources using the latest expertise, or it can compete for uncertain and expensive supplies on the world market. Energy security or…??

BBC – the bye-word for propaganda and fake news.

The sooner the licence fee is killed off, the better.

I suspect that, if the licence fee is killed off then all that’ll happen is that the BBC’s funding will be from general taxation instead… Try and stop the BBC then!
