Sweden’s new right-wing government is set to present its new climate ambitions at COP27 this week, which show not only reduced goals, but an increase in CO2 emissions.
This year’s UN climate summit, COP27, is taking place between 6-18 November in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
“It is, of course difficult not to be able to show tighter results,” Minister of Climate and Environment Romina Pourmokhtari said in SVT’s live broadcast on the occasion of COP27, adding, however that “the world is doing badly in achieving its climate goals – but the EU is not”.
Sweden will also announce at COP27 that it is increasing its CO2 emissions by 10% due to the government’s plans. This is partly due to the energy crisis faced by the country and the expectations of the right-wing on the new government, meaning it is harder for them to hold themselves to the highest standards in terms of emissions.

So.. the ‘EU does well on climate goals’ by….collapsing its economy: genius ! Unfortunately, as Dan Bongino has recently said, things need to hit rock bottom before the great brainwashed wake up. And we aren’t there yet.

Because ‘climate goals’ are more important than public welfare.

      • November 11, 2022 3:47 pm

How can this be? The Swedish government is more concerned with its economy and its citizens wellbeing than its climate goals? Who do they think they are, a democracy?

Their death rate per million inhabitants was about 70% of the UK’s. That shows just how effect our Lockdown was, as Bunter obviously knew from the start.

Unlike the UK with its dependence on “The Science” AKA computer games – sorry, “models” they didn’t destroy their economy, ruin the education and mental health of a generation of kids and massively overload their health service, creating huge waiting lists either.

    Paul

You know the rules the phrase is ‘Far right’ not just ‘Right wing’. Anything that isn’t marxist is apparently Fascist.

    • November 11, 2022 5:45 pm

MARXISTS ARE FASCISTS . Not in name; but in deed. Not an ethical value to be found between them.

Not exactly, though both are totalitarian.

Both are characterized by strong, autocratic central control of the economy. The difference is that under Marxism, the government owns the means of production. Under fascism, private enterprise still exists. Though the incentives exist for close cooperation between business and government.

Marxism and fascism are BOTH Left wing.

What about Mussolini? He joined with an already existing Fascist Party.
I think they were Black Shirts so he adopted military uniform ,became il Duce, and so made himself sole ruler by manouevring the King and the Vatican . However I’m not sure if he then continued to support Fascist ideology. I think he wished to be a Late Roman Emperor in his dreams. extending the Western Roman Empire in N Africa . so continued as a Tyrant.

Mussolini was as Hard Left as they come and preferred the term “Corporate Socialism” to Fascism.
If we look around us, there is a LOT of THAT about at the moment.

The excellent book “Hitler and Stalin – Parallel Lives” by Alan Bullock charts the history of both from birth to death in some detail, step by step. The similarities are astonishing. They adopted similar ideologies and applied very similar methods. I regard Fascism and Communism as almost inseperable and extreme left wing. Socialism is a slightly watered down way of exploiting and impoverishing people.

The only real division is between National Socialism and International Socialism, and that is effectively a distinction without a difference.
They both end up with mass murder – often of each other, as do all the myriad variants of Socialism sooner or later.

I guess Sweden is no longer the Socialist poster boy, even though it’s not Socialist. New government elected on immigration reform, calls to crack down on crime, fiscal balance without bankrupting the people, freedom of religion without imposing beliefs, and rational conservation of resources won. Their Covid policies led the world for correctness as well. Instead of WEF an ESG mandates the world should be following their examples.

Once again we are seeing heavily subsidised UK wind exports at negative prices. Last night they were negative at the system level for eight hours at down to minus £76/MWh, with net exports peaking at 5.2GW. The biggest winners are those windfarms with high priced CFDs, who managed to ensure that the day ahead reference prices were not negative for the six contiguous hours that would have seen their subsidy eliminated.

Harry yes that is the case. It makes my blood boil that the whole system is being so wilfully gamed and guess what? The BBC have an article saying how naughty it is that suppliers can switch customers to pre payment meters without their consent and cut them off. Shit for brains or what!

Its a scam, the games theory algorithms enable the wind farms to make vast profits manipulating the system, as well as using constraint payments…..what idiots allowed this system to screw the consumers……..OFGEM, the most useless regulator in the universe!

Sorry if a long way off topic but! Apparently we had the warmest Armistice day ever. Where on earth was this recorded? Well this station that is probably no more accurate than your average car thermometer parked trackside at Silverstone on raceday. Have a look

It has been exceptionally warm widely.
NI and Scotland had national record high minimums overnight.
A lot of Scotland was around 19C at 9am.
There is now little chance that the CET mean for 2022 won’t be an all time record, in nearly 400 years, and by a sizeable margin.
